35 I'm out in the suburbs of DC (northern virginia) Though it said no schools found, and there's an elementary school within about half a mile..
somehow my midtown apartment got a 72 out of 100. a couple of convenience stores as close grocery stores? theatre one for movie theatres, TSU for a school, exxon mobil law library. outside of all the bars (the one very walkable aspect of this place) and the expensive randalls down the street, none of this is really enhances the walkability. i think the score is too high.
I got a 40, which is probably higher than it deserves; you can reach a few convenience stores and fast foods, but it takes a little while, and it doesn't take into account the hot summer sun or other things that make walking less desirable. Of course - and I know this is supposed to be environmental sacrilege - I would be happier not living in a "walkable" neighborhood. I like to walk to places, but I also want to live where I have wide open space around me, and would pick that over getting to walk. However, if you're going to live in the middle of a bunch of people anyway, might as well have some conveniences.
