I'm going to try the music/audio book on my creative microzen tonight. What do you listen to if you use this method to fall asleep? Does it work?

I can't do it. It makes my mind active which results in no sleep. I'll sleep with the TV on but the volume has to be low enough so that all I hear are mumbles and I can't actually make out what's being said.

My college roomate swore up and down that if he listened to a new music album while he slept, he would learn all the lyrics in a couple days. I tried it but it never worked for me.

My ideal sleep environment is no t.v. or lights on! I hate light and sound when i'm trying to fall asleep. Once i'm asleep I don't care.

I'm the same way. Any sound completely ruins my sleep. It keeps my mind active.

Ditto. Though watching action movies or cop movies aren't generally a good idea - the flashing always keeps me up.

Medic Wade: Actually, the trick to falling asleep is trying to stay awake.
    - Saving Private Ryan

truer words have never been spoken. i fall asleep within minutes when i'm trying to stay awake to read a book or watch a show.

I'm also a no light, no sound guy. I usually read random CNN articles on my phone if I can't fall asleep. It usually does the trick in 5-10 minutes.

I like leaving the the tv on, but I know it delays my sleep. Personally, reading a book (in complete silence) will put me in the most relaxed/likely to sleep mood. Even if it's a good book, I'll still feel sleepy, and then the only choice is to force myself to keep reading or just go to sleep.

Get a Sleep Number bed. Now that I have one, I go to sleep instantly and wake up feeling like I have been drugged... it is that good!

I fell asleep last night watching TV. Which I hardly ever do because I hate waking up to infomercials in the middle of the night.

So, I'm having a dream about fishing. Of course, since it's a dream, it doesn't really make much sense, but I'm fishing for salmon at this guy's ranch in Missouri and he suggests trying some lures he has in a tackle box. I grab the ones he suggests and then he says I can have them for 3 easy payments of $57.95. I look at him like he's crazy, then I wake up an see some infomercial trying to sell me something for 3 easy payments of whatever the amount was.

    Damn infomercials.
