This is all very cute, but I'm pretty sure Dakota is saying that you have to TRADE for Artest, while you could simply offer the league veteran's minimum to Marbury if he is released.

I'm pretty sure the Kings won't be releasing Artest. There will be a greater cost to incur in order to get him (losing Battier, Brooks, etc.).

I have been posting on this BBS for nearly nine years. Perhaps I have evolved some, but most people would likely agree that I have been fairly consistent in style, perspective, attitude and other notable characteristics over the years.

The majority of people would likely be very surprised if I started:

    1. Using Smilie Icons.

    2. Posting using large amounts of slang.

    3. Posting extensively without using a link to support my position - thoughts.

    4. To have a care-free attitude about how others posted and stopped fussing about standards.

Even if I made a personal resolution to change and be Different from my past, it is doubtful that I could and/or be happy doing it.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Both are nutheads, both have chances to implode.

The difference with Artest is that if he pans out, we are almost certainly NBA Finals-bound, even subtract one or two key pieces of our roster (Battier). And he has shown in the past that he can be a complementary star. He wants to win.

Marbury on the other hand, is a team-killer. Note, he's not even a cancer, he is a TEAM-KILLER. Give me one team that has not gotten better since Marbury left? And that is the perfect indication that Marbury is a loser and does not know how to, and is not capable of playing winning basketball.

I was certainly not talking about you Mango, but my new antagonist jshabang, who has a difficult time understanding the difference between trading an asset versus picking one up for free....and taking a look.

Who can't seem to grasp that if we picked up Marbury for free, and he doesn't work out we cut him.

Whereas if we have to TRADE for Artest, and he blows up, we have gotten rid of a valuable chemistry asset like Battier...

So, one we keep the team together and take a low risk shot, the other we break up a good chemistry team in the hopes that Ron holds it together.

Big difference.....but cue....the DD hatorade to come in and make some bold aggressive statement about my posting or credibility (wtf is that anyway, this is an internet message board, and all based upon opinion anyway).....at the end of the day, my opinions are right 95.6% of the time.

    ;)

Jshabang, I have come to the conclusion that you are just on here trying to rip me, and not to actually discuss anything.....you fail to acknowledge any thought about the difference in scenarios and just talk about one small element of mine...Chemistry.....yes Marbury could hurt the chemistry, so you cut him.......problem solved.....but if you trade for Artest, giving up Battier, you could also hurt chemistry and lose a tradeable asset in Battier......that is the main difference, I am sorry if you can't grasp the difference, maybe some day when you want a real discussion and not just trying to make a name for yourself by putting down a fellow poster we can have a real discussion.

Some people can't grasp a deep discussion, they get stuck on a fringe element and can't see the forest through the trees.

No it isn't when is ripping people part of the game? When do I rip you or anyone for that matter?

I accept your apology, but calling an argument inconsistent when it is 100% consistent in approach is just arguing for the sake of arguing.

I can accept a difference of opinion, no problem, what I can not accept is when people of another opinion start basically calling someone stupid for their opinion.

That is not necessary, and it is uncalled for and childish.....

Unless it is talking about Sam Fisher, then it is necessary...

    :D

    (just kidding Sammy).

Look, the fact that you fail to see a difference in:

    A. taking a free look at a talented malcontent

    vs.

    B. trading for a talented malcontent

is the crux of the matter, you are the one calling my argument inconsistent and hoping over the fence......when it is completely consistent.

I said if Artest was released, then by all means take a look, same as Marbury.

I would not trade for either.....totally consistent.....but a free look, I would be happy to take a chance.

How is any of that inconsistent?

And Stephan has career averages of 19.7ppg and 7.9 assists per game that says that he is worth a free look.

While Ron Ron has career averages of 16ppg and 5.1 rebounds per game also worth a free look.

But NEITHER of them are worth the risk of trading any of our core players for.....IMHO.

Just like u think i am not seeing your point DD

I feel u are not seeing mine

I feel u....Marbury cost less and you dont want to give up battier in a trade......

I get it....its not as if I dont........

I just think artest would be a better risk even if it included Battier becuz we wouldnt lose anything.........

Battier and Artest are apples and Oranges in my mind

with artest bringin everything he can do and more.......

I also think it would put us in the Elite and one of the finalist to compete for a Trophy...........so thats why I personally would rather take a risk on him

it has nuthin to do with understanding your point.........which i do

But I am not calling your point inconsistent am I?

I get your point, you would take the risk, fine.... no issue with our difference of opinion.

You calling me a flip-flopper when the issues are not the same is what I take issue with.......I would not trade for either = consistent....

I would take a free look at either = consistent....

Nothing, is inconsistent at all in that position.

Your iconsistency was not rather u would trade for them or not

or rather u woul take a free look

I felt in the artest thread you were ripping him not just for a battier trade thing...........but saying that team chemistry is important and he would kill it.......and he is a knucklehead who would be a cancer on this team........

Sayin we all dont know what we are talking about because we never built a team and dont understand team building and chemistry.......and how artest as a player would kill that......

I am going verbatim with that.....that was said by u...........not by me or me hating or ripping you..........thats almost word for word what u said minus any financial or free info.....

I am just sayin if you say that for artest, the same applies to marbury times 10.........

but like u said its all opinion in the end.....

    LOL - Sure Sam.

Because you agree with their opinion.

    And JShabang,

Go back and read my Artest posts, I said I would take a free look, but not trade for him with ANY of the core players.....

I would take him for expirings...but not for Battier....

    Completely consistent.

Dada. Go to 82games.com. Look up the stats for Marbury for the past 3 years, and compare them side-by-side to Rafer's.

You'll find that Rafer is better than Marbury.

Marbury is done, man. Get over it.
