http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/p...n=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=6.1.1 Houston Rockets rookie forward Joey Dorsey will play Wednesday night in the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas. Dorsey was held out of Monday's night opener because he did not have a contract in place. The Rockets put insurance in place to protect him incase of injury, but he still did not play. While the two sides have yet to reach a contract agreement, the situation has been resolved. "(Rockets General Manager) Daryl (Morey) and I came to an understanding that he can play Summer League without having a contract in place, where he feels like he's covered incase of injury," said Lance Young, Dorsey's agent. Dorsey, a second round pick, was acquired by the Rockets on draft night in a three-team deal that also involved Memphis and Portland.
Nice. I knew they'd hash things out, since it's pretty unheard of to holdout on summer league. Now we can see what "Ray Lewis with a basketball" is made of.
Speaking of that, did anyone see the hit that Loren Woods put on D.J. Strawberry in the first game? That was a play worthy of Ray Lewis.
Oops. I thought the announcer said "foul on Woods". Whoever it was gave Strawberry something to remember.
I used to be the conductor of the Landry bandwagon, but this is really pissing me off, he needs to sign and get playing in the summer league, build some chemistry with the new guys, we might be able to do a double power forward thing ala Spurs.
