I've only "heard" it used on civics and accords, but there could be more. the best protection is to use the club or have an alarm. while they can be broken into, they're not worth the trouble... unless it's raining hard and late at night.
Nothing much. I had a pair of steel toed boots and a hard hat in the trunk. I also had some music installed, couple of 6 x 9's, 10" bass in the trunk, 2 speakers in the front doors, an amp and pre amp. Nope. Mainly African but I'm mixed with Syrian and Spanish as well. Actually it's pretty common knowledge that these cars are popular to steal. I had an alarm installed, a viper that doesn't allow the engine to turn over once the alarm is sounding. But I turned it off because the wire that leads to the sensor that picks up the signal from the alarm thingy that goes on your keychain was shorting. I was having problems trying to disengage the alarm when I was getting into my car so I turned it off completely and I just didn't get the time to get it fixed.
So what's the deal now? Is the insurance company just gonna give you some money for compensation or something? If so, just get a bike.. like those scooter types. Then use what's left to buy some mean lock, and maybe buy yourself a treat.
Is this it? He mentions "Houston" in the ad. I googled the car to see what it looks like and this was the first thing that popped up. link(craigslist)
You think a Houstonian stole his car in Trinidad and is now trying to sell it on Craigslist in Islamabad?
LMAO! The guy who is selling that car is my friend's dad who owns a car lot. What a strange coincidence of that popping up on a Rockets forum. Anyhow, that isn't your car as he's never been anywhere close to Trinidad but good luck as you get through this tough situation!
I went in to the insurance company today and apparently my dad got the cheapest type of policy (since the car was so old i guess) so that means there's no compensation. And even the insurance agent said that the chances of getting the car back are slim and none. Prayin for a miracle.
Haha. Not laughing at you. But, because I live on a street littered with new BMWs and Mercedes and Volvos and someone has a pretty beat up old Nissan parked on the side of the road a few doors down and they have "the Club" on the steering wheel all of the time. The car is filthy, paint is in very bad shape, interior is very rough. But, they've got their club. I Love it. Makes me laugh every time I see it. Plus, the old Nissan helps make me feel like there are other people around here more like me. One time I called to report my car stolen. I parked it across the street from the police station. I was very excited to have my old Jeep Cheerokee stolen because it had numerous mechanical problems and I figured blue book value was probably a couple grand more than I could get if I actually tried to sell it. Alas, my Texas registration was very expired. And my car was towed as a result. I was living in California at the time.
I remember when you first got back with the ex-wife and you two immediately went out and bought (financed) brand new cars. Is this decision haunting you now?
