in reality just confirm the media reports that the teams have talked about this. No where do they deny any conversation. And saying you are not "remotely" close usually means that the deal isn't dead, but is still being discussed.

If they keep making statements like those, this will never go away, because it becomes obvious that the teams have talked and are possibly still talking, which means it isn't a rumor.

I agree. This news actually makes me feel very comfortable. It shows that the rumor...well...is actually not 100% a rumor. They are actually talking about it.
