    i feel sad for camby. he might've been overrated, but for only one future 2nd rounder? wow... and we all have been complaining about the way the griz dumped gasol. i know camby is not at gasol's level, but he's still a starter on a western conf. playoff team last year, a good player.

    wow. just wow.

    Well, I'd care if A.) we needed Camby and B.) we were in a position to make the same offer.

    However, we don't need Camby and we're not under the salary cap so we would have had to sent players in exchange. As such, who cares?

    Besides, the Clippers are still going to suck.

    Here's why your comment is useless

    A) This is in the NBA section, thus we are talking about the situation for the Clippers/Denver and not the Rockets.
    B) Wasnt addressing you, was addressing the people who said this was a dumb move for the Clippers
    C) Clippers signed Baron and lost an expensive PF named BRand.. instead they found a decent, if not good replacement for a 2nd rounder who's contract lasts til 2010. Pretty damn good movie imo

    Anybody know what the Clips cap situation is now after signing Camby and BD and subtracting Maggette and Brand. I think they still have enough to sign another player if they want to and they still have their MLE.

    and i don't think they have the mle since they were under the cap.

    Maybe 5-6M under the salary cap. I don't think they qualify for a MLE.

    Well according to ESPN, they have approximately $3M left. Plus that is 1 less team who will go after Landry! :)

    Camby isn't as great a defensive player as everyone seems to think, but they don't have any other centers do they?

    So they gave up Camby for a bologna sandwich. Doesn't he still avg 10 and 10?

    Hmm, so does this mean all those restricted free agents like Josh Smith, Okafor and AI (the Philly one) stay with their current teams? Who really has the money to pay them?

    I don't pay too much attention to the Nugz, but they do have depth with Hilario, Kmart, and that hustle player they have off the bench.

    Assuming that Nene is healthy (which has never happened, ever.) then it's a good move cap-wise. But trading a guy who was in the top three in voting for defensive player of the year for a second round pick is crazy!

    I think that their leverage is severely diminished.

    1) Baron Davis to the Clippers
    2) Brand to Philly
    3) Maggette to Golden State
    4) Clippers acquiring Camby

    Can't think of any team left that has a large amount of available cap space and is willing to use it.

    now the Warriors, the Nuggets and the Clippers will be competing like mad for the 8th WC seed.
