billups is past his prime and prince isn't going to make up for the loss of t-mac's scoring.

    bad trade.

end how successful were the pistons last year?

think of it this way....the yao-less rockets were better than the pistons.

you sure you want to trade our best player from that team in exchange for two players - one on the downside of his career and another a good player but never will be an all-star?

Eastern finals and losing against the eventual NBA champs. Thats pretty successful and the Yao-less Rox were not better than the Pistons.

I agree about the trade though, keep TMac and just trade Battier for Tayshaun straight up. Morey will not do this trade.

I just saw the Screamin A Smith interview. It's funny how he mentions one of the reasons Detroit is interested ie because T-Mac's contract ends in the almighty summer of 2010.....um, like our GM is a dumb-ass and doesn't also want a crapload of cap space in 2010......

If I'm gonna trade TMac to the Pistons I would want Billups and Rip. But since Rip is off limits I would demand Billups Prince and McDyess. That is the only way I would do it. Here is how my trade would look:
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...763~532~3018&teams=10~10~10~8~8~8~8&te=&cash=

If that deal gets done then I will aim to deal with Golden State. It seems they may be looking for a PG and I feel Brooks(not the starter, but good backup) could flurish in that up and down system. Since we will have a void at the SG, I will offer Battier and Brooks + 2nd rd Pick for Stephen Jackson
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=378~976~3192&teams=10~9~9&te=&cash=

    New Roster

    Billups/Alston/Jackson
    S. Jackson/Barry/Francis
    Prince/Greene/Harris
    Scola/Landry/Dorsey
    Yao/Mcdyess/Deke(if he resigns)

The starting five would be a heck of a defensive team that could score. The second unit isn't too shabby themselves, especially if Greene can play how he did last night. If we couldn't get S. Jackson I would try for Artest with the same package and a 1st rd pick. He's not a natural SG but he can play it. Best thing is we would still have BJax and Francis for a trade at the deadline if needed.

So youre saying if we traded TMac for Rip and Prince we would be better off than having TMac and Battier as our 2 & 3 rather than having Rip and Prince and Battier as our 2 & 3 with one of them coming of the bench? Adelmans offense is taylor made for Rip. A player that stays in constant motion is what this offense needs. Remember Peja back in Sactown days?

LOL you mean like he has done in the playoffs his entire career? TMac has proven time and time again he cant carry a team when it counts. And this idea of having 2 superstars is getting old and tired. TMac and Yoa are not Shaq and Kobe. We either need to add another top notch player (especially with our stars injury history) or get rid of one of them and spread better all around talent around the other. If not our only hope is that are both injury free come playoff time or we are looking at another first round exit.

I love TMac but Im starting to think if we had better all around talent surrounding Ming we would be a better team. A dominate low post guy (Ming)surrounded by players that know how to win (Prince/Rip) with really good role players (Battier/Hayes/Scola/Barry/Landry) would be a winning combination IMO. Not to mention when Ming is out we wouldnt have to rely on one player to "carry" us.

Since you didnt like my first idea how about This?

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Trade ID #4726544

    Sacramento Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and 0.0 apg.
    Incoming Players

Tayshaun Prince 6-9 SF from Kentucky

Luther Head 6-3 PG / SG from Illinois

Bobby Jackson 6-1 PG from Minnesota

    Outgoing Players

Ron Artest 6-7 SF from St. John's

Kenny Thomas 6-7 PF from New Mexico

    Detroit Trade Breakdown

    Incoming Players

Tracy McGrady 6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS)

    Outgoing Players

Tayshaun Prince 6-9 SF from Kentucky

Richard Hamilton 6-7 SG from Connecticut

    Houston Trade Breakdown

    Incoming Players

Ron Artest 6-7 SF from St. John's

Kenny Thomas 6-7 PF from New Mexico

Richard Hamilton 6-7 SG from Connecticut

    Outgoing Players

Luther Head 6-3 PG / SG from Illinois

Bobby Jackson 6-1 PG from Minnesota

Tracy McGrady 6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS)

Detroit gets Tmac so they are happy.
Sacramento gets a good player in Prince, gets rid of K Thomas's bad contract and gets 2 expiring contracts to boot.
Houston gets Rip and Artest but have to give up their "superstar" and take on a bad contract in K Thomas.

    Now you happy pappy?

    Ming/Mutombo/Dorsey
    Scola/Landry/Hayes/KT
    Artest/Barry/Greene/Harris
    Rip/Battier
    Refer/Brooks/Barry

If T-Mac gets traded to Detroit he can basically kiss the first round curse goodbye. The Eastern Conference is a joke. Personally if I was him I would enjoy it so much more if I fought for it in the Western Conference, but this would be an easy way to get that gorilla off his back.

It's already been discussed why this would be a bad trade for us, so I'm not going to reiterate the obvious.

yeah, prolly, he would be playing an under .500 team in the first round in the playoffs.
