I don't see how this first game can be a negative in any way. If your first round pick, jumps out his very first game in Summer League and throws down a 40 spot that is sweet any way you look at it. Greene can ball. He can help the team. You just have to watch him shoot on the highlights Greene has a sweet stroke. Now if he develops he will be a big steal. If he doesn't adjust to the big boys he will take awhile. But a scorer will always find a place and if first impressions mean something, he can score.
The only thing I complain about Battier's 3pt. shooting is his hesitation and he sometimes inexplicably doesn't take the open shot. You just can't do that in this (or JVG's either) offense. T-Mac, on the other hand can take as many 3's as he wants and I don't care, but it drives me nuts that he takes so many without making a pass and making opposing teams play defense. It also tends to take our other shooters further out of rythym. I really hope much of our improvement this season stems from this being Adleman's 2nd year here and I believe it will.
And I love the fact he isn't hesitant to jack it up. Confidence will be a big factor in scoring in the real NBA If he is confident, but knows he has to work hard and improve he might be a real nice piece this coming season By playoff time.... whoaaaa slow down there
Larry Bird's Top 10 playoff plays doesn't include his famous steal on Isiah Thomas ... ri-damn-diculous. Kamla and NBA.com got really lazy on their research for this one.
I know no one cares for this site but *************** has video interviews with Donte Greene and Maarty Leunen on it's front page after the game. (other teams and players too.)
Greene reminded me of T-Mac, he is a scorer and will get his points. He also has the ability to draw the foul on his jump shots. There will be times when they are off and will basically shoot their team out of a game, but mostly these players have the ability to put their team on their back. I know it's 1 summer league game, but Greene may be the 3rd scorer the Rockets have been desperately looking for. What if Greene continues this type of play? Do you keep him coming off the bench? Does Battier become a 6th man? Still too early, but something to think about. Battier is an ultimate team player, so him coming off the bench wouldn't be a problem. I do think that with Yao & T-Mac being the primary options, Greene would be better coming off the bench. Battier's game may be better suited playing with Yao, thus giving the Rockets more balanced scoring from their starters & bench. If Greene keeps playing like this, Rockets will have some tough decisions to make!
You're going to have to be more creative if you want us to actually know what site you are talking about.. since the site is so bad that it's banned. Videos is actual content though, so I wouldn't mind seeing them. Edit: never mind I found it... for those wondering... it's the world of hoops that is the site that has the interviews. They are on the right hand side of the page.
I counted 4 definitely's! I also notice that he has the right mindset by repeating that he has to work hard and that working hard is the key to everything. If he can back up those words with action, he is going to become a very nice player.
The archive should be up soon (I don't know why all the other games are available but that one isn't) I would check tomorrow to see if it goes up.
yeah it should have been up by now...I think it has something to do with the game being at the Thomas & Mack center instead of cox pavilion because the Spurs-Grizzlies game is also not there and all the rest of the games from yesterday are up
