Obama has purged his website of all negative commentary on the Surge in Iraq -- apparently admitting that he is wrong on the issue. He still refuses to man up and say that the Surge has worked, despite taking the contradictory action of removing the negative words form his website. So again he changes his position on Iraq. Is this leadership -- to just swing in the wind as prevailing public opinions change? No it's not. He's not a strong hand that is capable of commanding history's most powerful military. That much is very clear. He's just in over his head. The countless flip flops and reversals prove it -- NAFTA, FISA, Iraq, the Surge, campaign finance, I could go on and on. He's a fraud who simply can not be trusted.

So libs, your own fearless leader now no longer believes the Surge was a mistake. Man up and admit yourselves that it has worked. Be men about this.

Barack Obama purges Web site critique of surge in Iraq
    BY JAMES GORDON MEEK
    DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

    Monday, July 14th 2008, 8:10 PM

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama's campaign scrubbed his presidential Web site over the weekend to remove criticism of the U.S. troop "surge" in Iraq, the Daily News has learned.

The presumed Democratic nominee replaced his Iraq issue Web page, which had described the surge as a "problem" that had barely reduced violence.

"The surge is not working," Obama's old plan stated, citing a lack of Iraqi political cooperation but crediting Sunni sheiks - not U.S. military muscle - for quelling violence in Anbar Province.

The News reported Sunday that insurgent attacks have fallen to the fewest since March 2004.

Obama's campaign posted a new Iraq plan Sunday night, which cites an "improved security situation" paid for with the blood of U.S. troops since the surge began in February 2007.

It praises G.I.s' "hard work, improved counterinsurgency tactics and enormous sacrifice."

Campaign aide Wendy Morigi said Obama is "not softening his criticism of the surge. We regularly update the Web site to reflect changes in current events."

GOP rival John McCain zinged Obama as a flip-flopper. "The major point here is that Sen. Obama refuses to acknowledge that he was wrong," said McCain, adding that Obama "refuses to acknowledge that it [the surge] is succeeding."

Obama hates America. Do you think we could try to elect Bush for a 3rd term? Think how much better America will be with a few more Bush terms! Oh, to dream. /sigh.

8 more years! 8 more years! 8 more years!

I'd be OK with McCain being Bush's VP.

I know it's hard for you Jorge to comprehend anything more than a 30 second swift boat ad, but you really should try and read Obama's major speech on Iraq today. You might just learn something...

    oh, who am I kidding....

One thing about the string of flip-flops coming from Obama, is that I see a lot less "McCain is no maverick, he flip-floped on everything" posts. :D

Isn't purging a website of your previous stance on an issue a cowardly way to avoid acknowledging the success of our troops? I think so.

    Shouldn't we want a flip-flopper?

Someone that actually reasons and makes adjustments as stuff changes.

Right now we have a stubborn administration that refuses to adapt or change but lies about obvious mistakes it made and continues to make.

I'm voting flip-flopper all the way

Heheheh well, yeah, unless he flops in a direction you don't like. But it's not like any of these national politicians have any shreds of humanity left anyway, so it hardly matters any more does it? You could put Obama and McCain in separate boxes, and just randomly vote for the boxes, not knowing which one was which, and chances are, the next four years will play out exactly the same.

If it requires more than 30 second by definition, it is *elitist*.

    Oops!

Obama forces McCain to Flip Flop on Afghanistan

Flash-forward to today. As the AP reported, McCain was set to discuss the economy, with an address on Afghanistan scheduled for Thursday. But the campaign ditched its planned focus on jobs (although not its banner) to follow Obama's lead -- not only by talking about national security but by joining him in calling for more American troops in Afghanistan.

Nearly an hour after Obama finished his D.C. speech, in which he repeated his call for "at least two additional combat brigades" to be sent to Afghanistan, McCain stepped to his podium across the country in New Mexico and tried to one-up his Democratic rival. As McCain's website now says, the Arizona Republican wants "at least three additional brigades" for the fight in Afghanistan.

But if Adm. Mullen can't find the troops to provide for a three-brigade increase in Afghanistan, how does McCain (who, unlike Obama, doesn't have plans to begin removing forces from Iraq)?

And what has happened in the last few days to provoke McCain to shift his months-long opposition to sending more U.S. soldiers to Afghanistan?

Ahahaha, really? Is McCain going to now propose foreign assistance of $50,000,000,001.00?
