Start revising your list. Woods is a goner according to the Chron.

Don't know why y'all are thinking otherwise, but Harris and Hayes both belong on this roster.
Barry makes Luther Head and Steve Novak redundant. One can't do anything but shoot threes, and one can't do anything in the playoffs.
Dorsey means Woods doesn't really need to be there. I think this is what things will look like at the start of the season:

    PG - Rafer/BJax/Brooks
    SG - T-Mac/Barry
    SF - Battier/Harris/Greene
    PF - Scolandry
    C - Yao/Deke/Dorsey
Other spots will be spent on Francis and Head: that's $4,596,858 of expiring contracts they can put in a trade deadline package... Or use to bid on Lebron.

Well, why not just trade them for Kobe Bryant then?

    I love you, DD.

Where is scola ? do you really think gorden will be satisfied to be tmac's back up?More importantly, bulls will never accept the trade that gorden for scola ,luther and novak.Even though they will , i don't think morey is foolsih enough to have such a deal with bulls.Gorden can't act as pg at all, just like the cat.why should we trade our most dominating pf for a backup who can just be on the court for less than 10 minutes per game yet earning 7m per year.Considering tmac's time on court, ben is hardly able to get enough time on court which will satisfy him.It' sgonna be a bad deal unless tmac is to be traded .Ben gorden is not able to act as a sf either because of his size.Ben is just another cat,or can't be as good as cat i think.Trading scola for artest may be a good deal in which morey can wipe out some trash contracts.

I hate to sound like a total schmuck, but could y'all at least run your posts through a spell checker before posting them here? It's getting pretty awful.

And if anyone thinks Scola is getting traded, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

Here is the new master list to the championship!!!!!!!!

    T-MAc
    SF3
    Battier
    Yao
    Rafer
    brooks
    B-Jax
    Scola
    Landry
    Mutombo
    Harris
    Greene
    Hayes
    Dorsey
F Elston--Sign and Trade for novak and Luther Head

Head and Vak get traded for a solid FA that perhaps another center like franciso Elson of The Oklahoma Sonics. He is athletic can run the floor blockshots and will make sure Yao does not play but 30 to 28 minutes a game

If anyone is wondering Woods returned back to his old Euroleague team in Lithuania Zalgiris. 2 years 1.5 million euros. But in Lithuania the contracts are not listed net like they are in Spain, Greece, and Russia. However for a club the size of Zalgiris they are guaranteed.

Still that means Loren Woods got a 2 year $2.4 million contract. It's sad that Zalgiris is that desperate. No wonder Mutombo is getting pissed off at the Rockets constantly offering him $1.2 million. Even freaking Loren Woods makes that in the open market these days.

That logic would work if Deke doesn't know the team's financial situation.

Unfortunately, he does. And I'm sure front office has filled him in on that. It's not like he doesn't know that the team is close to contending anyway. Plus, he'd most certainly get PT on this team at the rate that Yao is going down year after year..not sure that'd be the case on other teams.

Just wanted to take a realistic view of what the rockets have to offer, and the players i feel they should find new homes for.

Below is the Rockets roster as it stands today:

    Center:
    Yao Ming ($15MM)

    Power Forward:
    Luis Scola ($3MM)
    Chuck Hayes ($2MM)

    Small Forward:
    Shane Battier ($6MM)
    Mike Harris ($1.5MM)
    Donte Greene ($1MM)
    Steve Novak ($1MM)

    S Guard:
    Tracy McGrady ($21MM)
    Brent Barry ($2MM)
    Luther Head ($2MM)

    P Guard:
    Rafer Alston ($5MM)
    Bobby Jackson ($6MM)
    Steve Francis ($2.6MM)
    Aaron Brooks ($1MM)

    Free Agents:
    Dikembe Mutombo (~1.9MM)
    Carl Landry (~$3.5MM)
    Joey Dorsey (~$1MM)
    Maarty Leunen (~$.5MM)

Thats 18 players for 12 active roster spots....let me know if I missed anyone. Of these 18, I feel the rockets should look to trade the following "trash" (don't mean to be harsh) players or find alternatives such as NBDL or Euro-League. Although I prefer trading them for LLE or Draft Picks, I know its not a too realistic to expect other teams to take our trash for something valuable in return.

Chuck Hayes ($2MM) --> If Landry & Dorsey are signed
Steve Novak ($1MM) --> For mid to late 2nd round pick???
Luther Head ($2MM) --> For late 1st round pick???
Bobby Jackson ($6MM) --> In a package deal?
    Maarty Leunen (~$.5MM) --> Europe
Steve Francis ($2.6MM) or Aaron Brooks ($1MM) --> In a package deal?

All the others on the team are keepers in my opinion...unless of course a big time deal is presented. More realistically, these are the "trash" players we are using as bait.

So what do you guys think we can get for the "trash" I mentioned above?
Do you agree with the "trash" list?
Who is out there that we can look to trade for given the above "assets"?
Any vets (Horry, Cacel, PJ Brown, D. Milles, ect.) we can target for a short 1 or 2 year deal?

    Let me know your thoughts...

Wow. He got to where he consistently put up 15/9. He's the best PF we've had in a long time. I think 17/10 is possible for him to achieve which puts him into the top 20% or so for PF's.

Are you kidding me? He brought so much energy and hustle to a team that is well, to be honest, pretty damn boring without him.

I don't think it is a good idea. Luis scola will be a greater player in the coming season.

scola is a keeper. yao, mac, scola, shane, rafer are all keepers unless we get an upgrade, then i`d be willing to trade scola, shane, or rafer but not both scola and shane.

shane + rafer + (hayes, head) = 1st tier wing player or 2nd tier wing player + future 1st

scola + rafer + (hayes, head) = 1st tier power forward or 2nd tier power forward + 1st.

For this reason i don't think Novak will be moved.
IF a trade comes along where the Rockets get that 3rd scorer and Novak is required from the other team's standpoint - that i guess he goes.

But if it's a minor trade like i think the Rockets are leaning towards - one that'll tweak the roster somewhat - but not a great deal - than i don't think Novak will be included.

He is atrocious on the defensive end - but with the shot clock under .24 and the game on the line - i'm sure every coach would put him on the floor.
Even if he isn't intended to be the recipient - his defender sure as hell isn't going to leave him.

That's how i'd use Novak atleast. Play him minutes here and there throughout the season - and know in the back of my mind we sure have a handy sharpshooter on the end of the bench when the game's on the line - and we need a basket to drop.

geeze I would love to get Mobes back in a Rockets uniform as a back up... Maybe the Clippers will be dumb enough to give him back to us if we gave them head novak and a couple players... Having Barry and Mobes off the bench would just make us insanely deep. Sigh... that's only a pipe dream of course lol
Before we see what Dorsey can do I am not ready to let either Scola or Landry go.

14 points over 37 minutes is not nearly incredible as you've been making it out to be. In fact it's a slightly lower pace than his regular season numbers, not to mention that his FG% declined considerably in the playoffs. 14 points over 37 minutes is essentially Juwan Howard's per minute productivity - the old Juwan Howard.

It doesn't make much sense to. His contract would be our best asset at the trade deadline.

^ Plus he's the one player that keeps Rafer from playing 48. 30 minutes of Rafer is good. 48 minutes of Rafer is bad. Brooks isn't ready. Head isn't a pg. And Steve...well don't hold your breath.
