http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/games/20080714/PHXHOU/recap.html [rquoter] "I didn't know that it was a record – I was just here to get a W," said Greene on nearly breaking the Summer League scoring record. "Once I got to 36, Phoenix started keying in on me a lot more, so I started to look for my teammates to get them going. I got Aaron (Brooks) going, and Maarty (Leunen), and Mike Harris and we got the win."[/rquoter] LOL ... the rook sounds just like T-Mac. Hey Donte, you still missed the record by two points.
Honestly, the most impressive things to me about the rooks was that they held the suns to 33 2nd half pts after the suns were shooting lights out. That impressed me. I know it was just as much, as the suns shooting themselves out of their hot hands, but still. Is is just me, or would you think having a mini-tourney after these summer leagues would be somewhat entertaining?
I told everyone on this board from the begining that Greene would be a good player. Anyone who can average near 18 points a game as a college freshman would be fine.
only players who aspire to be great have the guts to jack up heat-checks. kobe shot a few airballs in a playoff game at the age of 19 and still had the gut to jack up another airball. only the great ones i tell ya.
Do we know for a fact why Dorsey didn't play? I mean seriously even Landry played without a contract...
well moochie doesn't even look like a basketball player to me haha. maloney? he's a typical white shooter.
OK, it seems like Dorsey sitting out is because of contract negotiations. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=151214
Damn ... I hope that doesn't mean he'll miss the rest of Summer League. What makes his situation so unique that he can't play in the summer without a contract?
Are you kidding me? Harris can shoot 3s, that's correct, but he is not a shooter, if you saw the only three he made today. Although he made it, the way he shot it was nothing related with beauty. He barely jumped, and showed a slow release of the ball. Just think Kirk Snyder, they are similar on shooting the 3s.
he is getting good advice. it just isn't worth the risk to play without the contract especially if it is likely to be done quickly.
It is since he's a second rounder. I guess that best defender in the country comment is coming back to bite morey on the behind
Perhaps the contract negotiations are actively going on right now ... so that's why he doesn't want to play and perhaps screw things up by getting injured. If he was negotiating for a contract later in the offseason (like Landry did a season ago), then I guess he'd go ahead and play.
