Landry was projected by most mock drafts as a mid to late second rounder. The fact that he went with the first pick of the second round surprised a lot of very educated basketball fans even. I have to admit, when I saw that Seattle (at the time) picked Landry at #31, I actually laughed at them. Not one of my better moments. Greene, on the other hand, was a McDonald's All-American, one of the top 10 freshmen recruits in the country, a sure-fire first rounder all season long. Anyone who followed the NBA draft knew EXACTLY who Donte Greene was. Except maybe to the casual fan, there was a BIG difference between Greene and Landry.
but brooks better show the team something before SL is over or jackson is gonna be the backup PG once again
I liked Robinson too, he looked very comfortable at the point, in fact a lot more comfortable than I have seen on the Rockets for a while, a nice player....gonna watch him in these next few to see if he can also shoot. DD
again, i foresee greene having a landry-like impact next year. and that's even more important b/c he will provide that perimeter scoring that we need outside of tmac and alston. man, really want to get this season started.
How does a guy with that nice release that Greene has shoot only .418 at Syracuse? Something strange happening there. DD
So now is the whole board going to jump all over green if he does not have a good 2nd and/or 3rd game?
I read somewhere he became too reliant on his 3pt shot and became a 3pt shooter. I didn't watch the game but how did he get most of his points?
lol, you can expect a bunch of garbage if he struggles. but i don't judge stats on SL games. what i already like about donte is his aggressiveness and willing to TAKE AND MAKE his OWN shots. that's what we need from other guys (not just defer to tmac/yao). and he's incredibly talented and skilled. he's not just a hustle player (we have a bajillion of those).
Basically 2 starters of the team went down with injuries and he was the guy required to make plays. Combine that with a really, really tough Big East schedule, and he was forced to shoot a lot of outside shots. Then it just started becoming a bit of a habit... Ryan
He got 15 points off of 3's. He drove pretty well into the lane, got a few dunks, and got 11 out of 12 free throws. If Greene plays like this in the season/playoffs I'll bow down to Daryl Morey as the greatest wizard ever.
DId anybody just see that shot O.J. Mayo just made in his summer league game against the Spurs? lol, well beyond half court and drained it for a buzzer beater 3.
Has to mean Deke is in the bag. Morey wouldn't go w/o a legit center? I see Patrick Bryant signed with the Celts, I thought he would have been a good pickup for the Rox.
Orange had 2 of their starters hurt. They were injury depleted and they had to depend on Greene. Thats why greene shot so ****ty. He had to take the shots or it wouldn't have been competitive.
