well its clear in black and white. the rockets plan to have him develop overseas next year.

lets see how he fairs in summer league play with the rest of the rockets sf's: eliahu, novak, maybe gerald green, donte greene.

should be an interesting fight for minutes.

Remembered a link from SI to this blog that covered Oregon a few years ago. The posts about Leunen are hilarious... (just a note, it is a blog so you sort of have to start at the bottom and go up for the right order, and I edited out the other posts because the Leunen ones are the really funny ones)...

1:03 p.m. Leunen made both free throws, then drew an offensive foul, and then solved various North Korea related problems ... but Aaron Brooks just fouled Collison, who was shooting a three ... Collison's free throws, with 46.8 seconds left ... First (good) ... Second (no good) ... third (good) ... 66-63, Oregon.

1 p.m. The fire alarm is going off ... Leunen just got a huge rebound ... If there's a fire, I'm sure he'll put that out, too. He's goign to the line to shoot free throws, but apparently with the fire alarm going off ... and now it's off.

12:30 p.m. Leunen just stopped an out of control semi truck with his bare hands and held on to the ball while two UCLA players were scrapping for it.

12:19 p.m. Maarty Leunen ... saves the ball off a Bruin, and after the inbounds pass he drives baseline, dunks, is fouled, makes the free throw and took a few minutes to teach some kids how to read. He's amazing.

12:12 p.m. Your halftime statistics: UCLA 13 offensive rebounds, 19 total. Oregon, 10 total, two offensive.

More amazing: The Ducks took only three three-point shots.

No Bruins in double figures. Brooks has 16 for the Ducks, if 5-for-5 from the field and made all six of his free throws. Leunen has 13 points and single-handedly saved a bus that was running out of control with a bomb strapped to it that would explode if its speedometer dropped below 50 mph.

    Halftime. Gotta love that Leunen.

11:52 a.m. Leunen just saved an orphanage ... and made a three, 36-29 Ducks.

11:34 a.m. Leunen's just tough. He muscled in on Mata, missed the first shot, got the rebound, put it back, got fouled, made the free throw, built seven houses for homeless families, balanced the the federal budget, and righted the career of Ms. Spears ... all on the last trip down the court.

11:06 a.m. This is too early to be playing (or watching) basketball. UCLA opens with a dunk and a layup, Oregon with a turnover and a layup. But, seriously, this is way too early. It was dark when we woke up in Portland. Anytime we wake up for a story and it's still dark, Bill Monroe should be taking us fishing ... Maarty Leunen for three, Oregon up 5-4. The fans rejoice.

dont think he's quite on novak's level as a 3pt shooter.

    leunen
    41-99 for 41.4%
    59-120 for 49.2%

    novak
    89-193 for 46.1%
    121-259 for 46.7%

novak put up more than twice as many 3's and had a comparable percentage. leunen also only had 1 year that was better percentage wise. if you wanna say leunen is a better overall player, thatd be a fair statement
