HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets have reached a contract agreement with forward Donté Green according to his agent Bill Strickland. Green was taken in the first round of June's NBA Draft by Memphis with the 28th overall pick.

They then traded him to Houston draft night as part of a three team deal that also involved Portland.

"We have an agreement in principle with the Rockets," Strickland said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

Strickland said Greene is thrilled to get this done now.

"This is very important," Strickland said. "It's the way I prefer to handle things. Now Donté can concentrate on basketball."

Greene has reached an agreement with the Rockets on the standard contract for first round picks. Greene gets the first two years guaranteed. The next two years on the contract come in the form of one year options the team can exercise and in the fifth year the Rockets retain the right to match.

Greene played only one year of college basketball at Syracuse where he averaged 17.7 points and 7.2 rebounds a game. Greene was also fifth in the conference in blocked shots averaging 1.6 a game.

Greene, who is 6-11 and 226 pounds, earned Second Team All-Big East honors and was also named to the conference's All-Rookie Team.

Greene is on the Rockets summer league team competing in Las Vegas.

    Not sure whether he's 6'9/6'11.

On his facebook profile his "About me" section states.

"I'm tall as **** and i'm going to the NBA"

    :)

    he is 6'9 in shoes.
    was 221 @ pre-draft measurments

looks like he'll get 'bonus height' as opposed to Landry (listed 6'7 - but 6'9)

    odd...

    GREAT NEWS ON HIM SIGNING!!

On his profile he's got all these shots of him partying.

someone whose hooked up needs to post those for the general Clutch community.

Alternatively those signed up should add him as a friend and see them for themselves.

I commented on one of his pics saying something like

"Just keep working on your shot selection - your'e a Rocket now!"

This makes me wonder what's going on with Joey Dorsey? It can't be that hard to negotiate deals with a #33 rookie.
