I look forward to the day that hermaphrodite marriage movement rises up and befuddles certain members of society.
I don't believe what you're experiencing is what I would call persecution. I think we have brothers and sisters around the globe who could give you a much better definition of what persecution is. But how can you read the NT and not expect some push-back?? Or some persecution on some level? We have it very easy as believers in the US. Arguably too easy to closely resemble salt and light. But the Lord you speak of was beaten to a bloody pulp and crucified. He talked over and over again about how he didn't have place to lay his head. His disciples were scattered and killed. Paul gives a long list of the crap he was put through. John the Baptist ended up with his head on a platter. Stephen was stoned, and not in a good way. The early church was literally thrown to lions...and that was merciful compared to some of the stuff they endured. We have easy street compared to that. Make friends from all different backgrounds. They're all God's children...He loves them all and He'd have you do the same. You'll learn a ton. You'll find there's truth and goodness and love in them and you'll know who to credit for that, even if they never do. He'll take care of all the judgment. You don't have to bother with it.
I was the first one to reply. This guy is my favorite new poster. And I confess to everything. Some great posts in here, btw. Especially Max, rhester and FB.
cry me a river....now why don't you answer why you think homosexuals should be killed and prostitutes burned alive.
I was going to simply state all of the things that I believe in but frankly in the end it really deosn't matter. I am sorry for any disrespect that I may have aimed at anyone, that was not my intention. And Max, I believe in a lot of the things you believe in. I am a Christian and a disciple of the Lord before I am an American. Lagality and any form of government go right out the window when it comes to the morals and teachings that Christ has instilled in me. I do not judge anyone for what they believe in. It is not my duty or my place because in the end, all will be judged my the one true ruler. I think a lot of what I have to say stems from my concern for this country and the direction that it is going. I understand that our government is not perfect and probably never will be. But you cannot honestly tell me that if Obama is elected that it will be a step forward but thats a whole different debate. My eyes are open. I have friends of all race, color, sexual preference, background, class, hermaphrodites apparently, political stance and whatever else is out there. I love people unconditionally. Jesuse loved everyone regardless of what they belived in and I try my hardest to live my life like he did. All I am trying to say is look around. Look around at what is going on in the world. Death, disease, poverty, war. Nothing new right? I simply wanted to know how the liberal agenda plans to solve some of these problems. I don't mean any disrespect and I am not saying who's way is best.
BS. Your defense of your bigotry against gays was a Biblical quote which advocates killing them. If that's what you believe, stop pretending to share common cause with Jesus Christ.
If you really believe what you believe, you can say it anyway in your speech. Just say your original speech. Unless you go to a private school, they have no right to edit your speech that way. You can talk about Christianity as a subject matter relative to the topic at hand (the history, the political nature, a a subject of religious studies course) - but you can not preach that religion or make claims that Jesus saved everyone here from sin. Tha'ts a belief. You can state that christians believe that but i suspect what you are trying to do is more than that. No one of any religion is allowed to evangelize in a public school system.
I simply put that to show one of the verses in the Bible that deals with the issue. According to the Bible, homosexuality is wrong. I'll go ahead and commit the heinous crime of giving my opinion on homosexuality. While I DO NOT JUDGE people for being homosexual and lead a lifestyle by it, I do not believe it is right. Do I think we should kill people for it? NO. But to me, however it is scientifically wrong, not just morally wrong. It just wasn't meant to be.
You are absolutely right. Our country is in horrible danger as long as people that think this way are in it. Good news, though. There are less and less people like you in this country. And more and more Christians are becoming more tolerant of people who are not like them (as the Gospel teaches). Good luck to you in eventually becoming one of them.
so you disagree with the bible? do you think some other punishment should be inflicted? jail? caning? torture? the bible clearly states these sinner should be punished violently. why do you disagree with the word of god in this situation?
hmmm. didn't read your speech and can't speak to why you were censored but i can tell you that your beliefs, as you've espoused them here, are not your own. you are doing what you're told and have been brainwashed. max really can help you out if you care to pay attention to what he's telling you. THE ONE TRUE RULER? that sounds like something out of a generic sci fi or fantasy film. you are young, don't think that you've got it all figured out because you don't and you never will. max knows this, hell, i know this. prolly one of the few things we agree on
I do not disagree with the Bible at all actually. I do believe that homosexuals will be punished for their sins, maybe even in that way. I also believe that God is in charge of punishment. I hope that answered your question robbie.
Wow, then there are a lot of things you probably shouldn't be doing or using. How is it scientifically wrong? Hasn't science shown us that humans are not the lone species to have homosexual members?
Total. There should be D/D awards for this genre, some are so well done. DCWCMT07: you need to understand that you are completely schizophrenic throughout this thread, and that is not about you, it is about your argument - you can not possibly be "merely trying to get a better grasp from your political perspective and try and get your opinions on matters like abortion, immigration, etc." yet post in that "What do you have against this country and what it was founded for? " tone. You lash out at people for being fundamentally disrespectful and rude in a fundamentally disrespectful and rude way. Would Jesus start a thread in that way? Keep in mind, my good man, that the sort of liberal-as-boogeyman (or even Republican-a-boogeyman) act is a lethal yet shockingly successful intellectual trap, used to manipulate people without the time or inclination for sophisticated thought from seeking to understand anyone or anything other than themselves. It is also a crucial ingredient of the perspective you - and some others here in more developed ways - are espousing; that people with opposing viewpoints must be morally and intellectually inferior. And that those people must be called liberals. I urge you to collect more data about the human condition, and think a little outside of your own experience. And I am not a biblical scholar, but i dont think god died for all of us and our sins, wasnt that jesus? Maybe i am wrong.
To the OP: I would strongly advise you to STOP for a few moments and ask yourself this question - Do you think God *likes* seeing people like you going out of your way to make Christianity (or at least Christians) look stupid? You may think you are helping, by 'professing your faith'. In one sense, that is admirable, as not many people are willing to put themselves out there like that. However, there is actually a very good reason why most people don't - they don't have anything more than a childlike understanding of Christianity, of the Bible, and of the fact that it actually MATTERS what other people think of you and what you say, because you place yourself in the position of a representative of the faith. Yo need to take all that enthusiasm and energy you have, and redirect it into some serious theological study, and forget about the 'current events' which have got you so riled up, no matter how frustrated you are with them right now. The Bible is not intended to be used as a weapon, especially not the Old Testament. Just relax, and focus your attention on your growth in Christianity, work to get beyond the childlike state in which so many people remain. And try to understand that, with what you have done here today, if there was anyone reading all of this who may have been considering becoming a Christian, you have most likely hurt more than you have helped. Better to remain quiet than to be a stumbling block.
