Fingers Greenspoint is having a big clearance sale, they're closing on the 28th I think. I just bought a $2000 3 seat leather couch for $800 from there. I was looking at a microfiber 3 seat couch for $337 but the leather one kept calling me. Otherwise I would have looked at The Dump, The Star Furniture clearance store on 45, or the Fingers Outlet in downtown. I've been occasionally looking at Craigslist, but most of the stuff with pics are gross. Do you have an example or pic of a good quality leather couch and a low quality one? Can you tell from an internet pic or you have to inspect in person to know? I was told to stay away from the smooth shiny looking ones, they are most likely vinyl or combination of it.
No, I couldn't tell if it's low quality leather just by looking at pictures online. Generally, the price is an indication of low quality leather. I saw a 3-piece set going for $944, so that was a red flag right there. When I went to go check it out, I was right. It felt like I was sitting on plastic. And, yes, the crappy shiny ones are vinyl/leather composite, whereas the real leather ones actually feel like they could have come from a cow.
I looked at microfiber and leather couches over the weekend... I like the leather/microfiber combo. My two main concerns about this are stains and tears. I know that it is easy to clean up but what happens if you forget to clean it? Will it be too late to clean it up a day after? I saw one of the couches that had a tear which made me to wonder if they're prone to tears as opposed to leather couches? I like leather couches but only if they're soft.
Why are you crying so much on your couch? I guess I would cry if I ended up with an obnoxious leather couch.
