    At what cost?

I thought the talk was that he wanted too much money. If we keep him, do the Rox cut Woods and take the cap hit?

Of course. I luv to see Deke back next season.

Someone need to elbow the rookies and take out their tooth to show them they have arrived in NBA. This is Deke's job.

Is Nachbar available? I think we should get him to back up Shane, I think Shane is freakin tired in some games guarding elite players.

Who knows, maybe Deke is actually younger than his reported age. Since nobody really knows how old he is. See greg oden.

Too much money was the case last year I think. And Les donated plenty of cash Mutombo's way over the year. I am pretty sure he will be back for min.

I hope Deke will take the vet min. Perhaps Les can sweeten that with more charity.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Dorsey getting more minutes than Deke in the regular season, but the rockets will need Deke in the playoffs and especially against the Suns with Shaquille Oneal and Amare.

Yes,but Dorsey will need to learn a lot of tricks otherwise he will foul out very quickly.

Of course Deke was awesome when Yao went down. But when Yao was healthy, I don't think Deke was in the rotation at all. In fact, he might not have even been on the active roster. Without Yao he's essential, with Yao he's expendable.

    Hell yes we need Deke.

As much as I love Yao, he hasn't proven to be very durable these last few seasons and Deke has really stepped it up. Plus he's a better defender than Yao anyway.

Having Loren Woods and a rookie player as your backup centers playing behind an injury prone big man is WAY too dangerous, IMO

Dorsey getting more minutes than Deke may not happen right away, but I do see him getting descent minutes as the regular moves along. I kinda see the rockets going with more speed lineups this upcoming season.

Deke was on the active roster all year. He should play more if you ask me to give Yao the rest he needs. Yao should only play about 30min a game so he won't be tired at the end of the season. Deke should get about 8min and Dorsey about 10min a game behind Yao. Yao health and rest is the most important thing and giving Deke and Dorsey 18min will only help us.

We'll keep him if no better alternative comes along (via trade, most likely). No worry.

He can walk if he wants more money. He is already an offensive liability but he has become a defensive liability against many teams. He played in less than half the regular season games because he doesn't provide any offense and is detriment to the team when facing smaller, quicker big men (which happens to be the trend now days). He's great to have against big, slow centers but how many of those are in the league. Furthermore, how many are there that shoot the ball enough for Deke's defense to even matter. Do I really care if Deke is there to "shut down" Jason Collins? LOL

I know a lot of people still think he is a night in and night out defensive machine but he isn't anymore. He can be effective for 4-5 minute bursts but that's it. He isn't worth more than the minimum to this team.

The coaching staff and management seem to agree with me.

I agree with you i say JR Smith is the guy. Posey will probably go back to Boston and he is using other teams to up his deal I believe. Smith can do it all Defense, shoot the three, and drive it to the hole. I know hes a knuckle head but with the right coach in his ear he can be a diamond in the ruff.
