Like I said wake me up after the trade deadline. Bro (don't you hate being call that by somebody who doesn't know you?!) keep drinking the Rockets kool-aid, I'm sure it taste really good!
It's all about fg%. Everyone should be prepared to be underwhelmed in this offseason, but Barry's a great fit for us.
Finally a decent jumpshooter off the bench who at least has other skills. No more watching Luther Head and Steve Novak acting clueless everytime they're on the floor.
I'm not drinking "the kool-aid." I'm realistically looking at the situation. One of the big areas of need on the team was a backup 2/3 who could lower battier/mcgrady's minutes. That's what barry provides, along with the ability to give spot minutes at the point and hit outside shots, opening up lanes for yao/t-mac to operate. Are they done for the summer? I doubt it. If by midseason they haven't found that 3rd scorer and ascended to the top of the West, feel free to get frustrated that they are holding themselves back. But right now, there is no reason not to like this move, and they can still get the 3rd scorer you want later in the offseason or by the deadline.
My only question is how well will he hold up through the regular season? It sounds like the Rox plan on playing him pretty heavy minutes. Still, a good solid acquisition for a bargain basement price. On to Landry!
I think he gets 20-25 minutes a night at this point, though it could be reduced to 15 or so if they could use their 2.2 mil TE on Mo Evans or sign him with part of the MLE once they wrap up landry.
Great move for us, this is the final piece of the puzzle and makes us the best team in the league now.
Here's the thing I have to put my money on the line as a season ticket holder. Are you saying I should keep buying tickets based on whats happened so far? It's easy to judge the Rockets when you have nothing at stake. I can't afford to sit in your armchair and make future decisions.
That's overstating it juuuuuuuuuuuuuust a tad. But excellent pickup. Hopefully Barry has enough left in the tank. I still remember how much Jon Barry kicked butt in the Dallas series-- even though I don't know if Brent can hustle like Jon did, it would be great to have another deadeye shooter again.
Well, then don't buy season tickets. It makes sense for us to wait. We've let a lot of expiring contracts go by the wayside but Morey deserves a shot at getting something for them. It's just a different offseason and it's about time we started doing things differently.
