Interesting. Let me know how the independent store works out, it sounds promising. I may try the same Walmarts again, it seems hit or miss depending on the employee. I know the game can be had, its just a matter of finding the right place, the right employees, and the will to actually try.
I had it at Sams Club but the register would not let her ring it up. I did not think SAMs club would care about street dates.
I think the workaround that is to photoshop the NCAA 09 UPC code into that early release voucher and have them scan that. It might ring it up? God who knows, I guess we will have to wait. I am not trying Walmart if the game wont ring up.
Don't stores get fined, or reprimanded with the possibility of not being "allowed" to sell future games if they sell earlier than the release date? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get it early, too, and i see no point in stores not selling them early if they have them in stock. But, i guess if there are repercussions for the stores themselves, maybe that's why they won't sell them early. Damn, all I know is it's going to be hard to wait til Tuesday!
I don't think anything really happens. Maybe a slap on the wrist. If I got Walmart to ring it up as Misc. item then no one would find out anyways. But yes, EA goes through great lengths to keep the game from releasing pre-street date. Other companies don't care as much.
Cool....Just curious. I'd love to get it early. It's not like we are hurting anyone or stealing- we're paying the money asked for a product EARLIER than requested. Anyway, haven't seen it out here in the Austin area, and I don't plan on searching around for it. I just think with the registers blocking the accidental early sale, it can become quite a hassle to try to convince someone to sell it early. But if you do find it anywhere, and you're able to get it, let us know.
I know I tried again at another Sams Club and was rejected. My guy at GameCrazy hit me with the Street Date crap. Every game is street dated and he did not say anything 2K8, and he sold me that one early. I still have my independent retailer that I have to call this afternoon. BTW, what side of town do you stay on if they have them I can pick one up for you and meet you somewhere. The girl told me the owner had not went and picked them up yet. I told her when he picks them up, I can get all of them sold for him.

Have you started a dynasty yet? Supposedly there have been some freezing problems when people start dynasties, or at least that is what they're saying on the IGN boards.
Not yet, a game I played with a friend went into overtime. The game froze in OT. Hopefully it was a one time thing. The game is a blast though. Feels like 04, very offensive oriented. Lots of speed.
Congrats....I went ahead and paid for the pre-order today just to make sure I have a copy reserved. I went to a couple of places to look around this weekend, but didn't really press the issue trying to see if they'd sell it to me. Can't wait til Tuesday, though....
You can get it tonight at midnight at any department store or game store that stays open for the release.
