Anyone know any places around the SW side of town where I can get a good deal on size P245/40R19 tires? I'd need a set of (4) and have them balanced and mounted. Thanks in advance guys!

I always go to Discount tire...they seem to give you the most bang for you buck...there's one on 59 before W.Airport.

Wherever you go...check the date of your tires! They may not actually be new.

Well if you lived in my neck of the woods there is a place called Burgess Tire in Tuckerman, AR that beats the heck out of everybody's prices. I remember I shopped around town for a tire because I had a flat that could not be fixed. I priced tires from major places like Firestone, Sears, Wal-Mart, etc. and the average price for a tire on my car was $91. I went to Burgess Tire and got a brand new set of 4, brand name tires for $141 installed.

I second Discount tire. I've called around several times and they always have the best deals.

    How timely.

I am going nuts b/c I got a flat on the way to the airport last Tuesday. I had my car towed to the nearest dealership (downtown) b/c my car doesn't have a spare tire (the model doesn't come with spares to keep the weight low - it is a sports car).

I found out that there isn't a single tire in the city of Houston for me and that it will take 2-4 weeks to order and have it delivered to the dealership.

Luckily I work from home - so don't need to drive on a day-to-day basis. But I do work out at 24 hour fitness at lunch and have been walking there every day this week - today i got caught in the rain.

    Stupid tires.

I'd go to Costco. They sometimes have discount if you buy a set of 4 tires. Plus they provide free lifetime service for balancing/mounting, etc.

Stop by the RIVER OAKS Firestone service station on Westheimer near Weslayan. They'll give you a good price and GREAT SERVICE if you ask for Rusk. You will come back to them.

Having worked @ Discount Tire Co. for two years, they usually have the best deals. Discount is usually willing to beat any deal. You can go to their website and check to see if they have what you're looking for. If its priced a little high you can go here and check the price (they usually beat everyone) and take that price to Discount and they'll beat it. If Wal-Mart, Sam's, NTB carry your tire and their price is less than Discount Tire, they'll match or beat the price. I just sent you to tirerack.com because they usually have the lowest price. Hope that helps.

Mejj Tire service, I have a F150 with 18'' tires and have never paid more that $350 for a set. They are off of Fuqua. Ask for George and tell him what you want and he'll check what he has in stock. (713) 947-0641

    www.tirerack.com

then have them installed somewhere---the choices and the prices are listed closest to the address you put in online (you can have the tires shipped to any store nearby you that works w/tirerack)

    Go to Firestone.

They have this coupon online like every two weeks for Firestone where they give you 40 bucks off of any 4 tire set purchased. My deal came out much cheaper than Discount Tire.

Although service at Firestone sucks and is very slow, you can save some money.

I don't think its that the tire is old but that retailers are selling them off the shelves as new when they've been sitting there for perhaps years; and they either don't know or they do but sell it to you anyways.

What? No one has mentioned TireRack yet? We always order our tires on-line and then take them to get mounted.

I'd say discount tire too. I ordered a set of tires from the net a couple of years ago. Then I had to pay like $80.00 to have them mounted/balanced. Of course then I got a flat later and had to pay discount tire to fix it, which is free if you buy your tires from them.
After all of the extra hassle and expense I didn't get such a good deal from the internet.

Haha! I'm so smart, someone DID mention tire rack before me. I should really read all the posts first. :)
