I know the game is not out yet, but I am usually able to get the game early. This year it does not look like my connection will be able to come through. I am willing to pay extra if I can get the game early but I do not want anybody to put their job in jeporday. I do this every year, it is the one thing I looke foraward to during the summer.
Hear anything? Has the game shipped yet? Is it in stock just not out at stores? If so I may venture out.
Yeah it has shipped out. I saw a guy on operation sports with the game, but he is stationed overseas. I will probably wait until Thursday or Friday. I might stop by this place where I was able to get NBA2K8 early on the way home just to see when they are supposed to get the game in.
Believe it or not last year I actually got the game early on Walmart.com. They had the wrong date and shipped games out early. I paid extra for overnight shipping and had the game friday before the release. But this year evrybody is saying the 15th.
Any one know how much this game will be at frys ??? I remember getting 07 for $40 at frys, for the 360, the first day it came out.
Umm... Ya... Go try it... Let me know how it goes... Its only real if the employee falls for it. It works all over the US each year. But I have never had the balls to try it. Someone made that coupon up in photoshop.
I have the 360 coupon and I am going to wait until Thursday or Friday. Only try it at Walmart their managers can overide the register because the register will not let them sell the game before the 15th. Target mangers cannot overide the system, abd Gamestop and EB Games will laugh you out of the store. It would have worked in the past but no one had the game in stock when I tried and in years past I had the game without using it.
Interesting. Do we have any privately owned video game stores in Houston? Or are they all big chains? I got the feeling we might have 1 or 2 mom and pops type places hidden somewhere.
That is the same thing I am wondering. I have found a couple in my area (Pearland/Alvin) but the speacialize in selling older stuff. When they do get new games it is a week or two after the release date. Do not ask me why.
I tried the voucher at walmart today, because I called and the girl over the phone said they had 30 in stock. The manager would not break the street date even with the voucher. I have one more place I will try for the next 2 days. if I do not get it by then, then I will give up.
The manager acted as though he/she was aware of the ploy? Or just acted with judgment? I may go try at a walmart at 1-4am, when there are no competent managers. You think I have any kind of shot? Do they scan those coupons?
No the coupon will not scan, but the numers are corrrect on the UPC code, so that was how I was able to call and see if it was in stock. The manager was too compliant. She said under no circumstances could she break the street date. I know it works though, you just have to get the right manager.
If you can get an extra one for the 360 I will pay you for the game, plus extra for your trouble. But make sure you can get yours first and foremost since I know you are getting one for the PS3
Ill see what I can do. I'm gonna check it out in a little bit. The coupon says limit 1 per customer but I'm on it.
No dice. 1 Walmart made a copy of that coupon and faxed it to the dept head? Or something. I dunno. Anyways that didn't workout. Took it to another one and she said she didn't have access to the games in the back, to come back tomorrow morning. I might try Toys R Us sometime, less red tape and employees to deal with.
Ziggy I have two options and then I am finished. I have ordered from an online distributor like I did last year with overnight delivery. If it is not shipped out by tonight then I will just cancel my order (They have it in stock and it is supposed to be shipped out). My second is I know a independent video game store that seems possible because they actually get new games. They do not have the game yet so i do not want to get your hopes up.
