Words cannot describe my anticipation towards this movie.

Perhaps it's too early to judge, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it:

    Heath Ledger's Joker > Jack Nicholson's Joker

    There, I said it.

Considering there was a mixed reaction towards Jack's Joker, and Ledger has been universally praised (thus far) for his interpretation, I don't think that's much of a limb.

Mixed reaction towards Jack's Joker, really? Most of the people I interact with praise Jack as the greatest Joker of all time.

With the latest Batman installment, I disagree.

from the same trailers posted on this thread.. i'd say Ledger's Joker will end up equal to Jack's.. but probably seen/judged as the better through contemporary eyes.. just for offering a side of the Joker.. Jack Nicholson didn't.. either way.. they both will end up the same.. as only presenting/performing/giving.. one half.. of that absurd character's insane twofold personality..

While we're on the same subject, check out Kato Vs Robin from the Batman 60's tv show...

I just got back from a press screening. I'll post my video review if any is interested when I get it done.

Epic. In every sense of the word. And I would have a hard time believing anyone could think Jack N. did a better job with the role after they see the movie.

Nice, this movie is a must-watch for me. Even though I didn't find the first movie too interesting(the "how he became Batman" doesn't appeal to me much)

words can't describe why the movie is such awesomeness

btw, a tip from who saw it at the Imax, if you really want a good view of the action, stick to the regular theater showings, I literally got dizzy watching the fight scenes.

EDIT: deleted spoilers (with spoiler tags) before I get blammed for someone "accidentally" clicks on it :)

My review won't do it justice, but I'll take a stab at it

The Dark Knight is quite possibly the best masterpiece we've seen in the past 5 years. Once you see it, please give me an excuse why not to like it. Heath Ledger gave the performance of his career and I have the uttermost respect for him taking on this role, and nailing every minute of it. In all honestly, after watching this movie, you would want a movie solely based on him because you wanted more screen time for him. Gary Oldman should get MORE props than he deserves as a well established underrated actor.

This is one of the movies that well lived up to the 2 year hype is has built up. It can get all the box office records all it wants, and for once, it'll deserve every penny.

Seriously? I already bought my IMAX tickets for the weekend. Will the seating make a difference? Should I try to sit near the back?

We were in the third row, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

    :p

Try to sit in the typical "preferred seat", just behind the middle row, middle of the row. I found it ok during the fights, but sitting behind the 3rd row would have been much nicer.

I'll be vague for now since I know less than .01% of the world has seen the movie yet (bwahaha).

The Dark Knight is what happens when you get writers, directors, and actors who are committed to making great films.

Heath Ledger WAS The Joker, no doubt about it, the way he was portrayed, his lines, every scene with him, every twisted thing he said, every glimpse of his evil genius was spellbinding. I can't even begin to explain it, it was nearly a 3 hour movie and all I wanted was more. Then you add in a great character actor like Gary Oldman with Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhardt, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, etc.

I say this without hyperbole, I think this may be one of the finest achievements in American Cinema to date.

This is The Empire Strikes Back we've all been waiting for.

Plus The Deebo cameo was great. :D

**** all you people who have seen it already. **** you right in the ass with a big rubber dick. Getting me even MORE excited for this movie when I probably won't be able to watch it until the weekend following this one. God, that seems like an eternity.
