Do you think he'll still consign himself to the fate of playing on a Brand and Maggette-less Clippers or will he go back on his verbal agreement and find a new job?

I think he'll renegade on the agreement. I'm sure that's not what he agreed to sign up for, and frankly, without Maggette and Brand on the Clips, who do they have? Chris Kaman? LOL.

If I were BD, I'd be pissed as hell.

It's not like they would've gotten really far if Brand were to have stayed. Even with Brand and Maggette just for kicks they probably would be fighting for an 8th seed in the west. He still gets to play in his hometown, is guaranteed a nice long lucrative contract and the Clips have a bunch of money to throw at somebody. I say he still signs.

I don't think anyone else can offer him more than 65mil.
    Plus its his hometown.

I wonder what the Clippers will do with all that cap space now.
Make a pitch to Josh Smith and hope the Hawks don't match.

    PG: Baron Davis
    SG: Cutino Mobley
    SF: Al Thornton
    PF: Josh Smith (6'9, 240lbs)
    C: Chris Kaman

Wouldn't be a bad line up at all...

This thread needs a photochop of Deliverance, Brand and Davis. Davis would be squealing "Wee Wee Wee".

IMO, I think Davis's situation isn't that bad at all. I'd stick with Clippers if I were Davis. No one would blame me if my team record sucks in the upcoming season because everyone realizes I am a the one who was betrayed yet still stand by my words. Clippers get into the lottery and pick a decent player, keep the money for the very strong free agent market in 2009 and 2010, their future could not be so bad.

I doubt that lineup will make 8th seed in the West. It's just too competitive, even more so than last year, if that's possible.

How are you gonna make up for a low-post force who gives you 20-10 and is more than capable on the defensive end night in and night out? And a swingman off the bench who could be starting for just about most every team in the league, and can get you 20 points almost every night? Unless Thornton magically develops into a beast, I don't see that happening.

Oh and robbie, that show was the bomb in the 90s. Awesome. Heh.

Lakers are using the Clippers as a door matt to make the trade for him anyways.

That is how that city operates. Clippers always try to compete through draft or FA, but if it's possible and feasable with the Lakers they always pull the rug out from under them lolz.

It will be another trade just for the hype and all the BS media is hiding it's true intentions.

They already knew Brand was going to opt out so they made a sales pitch at Baron because of the way the Clippers see it, it's about the same city anyways and the move to be made still benifits both teams some where in terms of flexability.

So tell us all exactly what the Lakers have to do with Baron Davis and the Clippers. What did they do to "pull the rug out from under them"?

    This should be good.

I just figure his contract would match up to Fisher and Odom anyways lolz.

Fisher wont leave L.A do to his daughter i think.
Odom used to be the face of the Clippers franchise.

Odom would be expiring giving them the extra option to pull a Gasol give away kinda robbery deal as long as it fits within their strategic plans with Fisher and both teams.

Dont think it wont be an extra option they wont try to pull is all im saying.

    hell sign with the clips.

he didn't make the move to win. he wanted to be in his hometown, near the studios, where he his production company can flourish.

Even if he did renig, where would he go? No one has cap space anymore, IIRC.

He stays - he's gotten his final massive payday, gets to be in LA, the Clippers have the cash to sign some help (Okafur is a possibility), and (as posted) winning has never been first on his list.

The guy is stupid. Clippers ain't going to make the PO. He should've been smart enough to sign with an Eastern team or a team that'll give him a chance to make the PO. It's all about the money.

At least Brand make the right move getting the money and going to a good Eastern team that will make the PO.

Is he stupid, or was getting major money and being in Los Angeles his real priorities? I question whether BD honestly cares about winning, watching him over the years.
