Maggette already signed with the Warriors. In another deal today, former Clipper Corey Maggette reached agreement to join the Golden State Warriors in a five-year deal worth about $50 million, according to NBA sources who requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak about player movements
Thaddeus Young, Elton Brand and Sam Dalembert that's got to be one of the longest front courts ever. Very impressive. I can't really see a weakness with Philly now that they have a legit low post threat. They have the perfect combo of athleticism, youth, veterans, scorers, defenders the only thing I see missing is championship experience. Throw in a Brent Barry, Cassell, Derek Fisher type of player and they're a legit contender.
the clips need to fill the void if the brand signing is true. Smith would be the guy I would want but the Hawks are going to match so whats the point. Who else is available?
The Warriors just don't need Maggette. Its like they signed him just to sign someone. They have plenty of capable swingmen. I suppose they have a slew of trading to do. But still...
WORD. The Clippers boards are also saying that Baron Davis only has verbal agreement with the Clippers, which means he can back out. If that's true, oh man, the Clippers are beyond screwed.
Well Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington are on the trading block. They lost Pietrus so I guess that is why they signed Maggette. Still doesn't make much sense though.
Well its still early in the offseason, they could still make a move for a point guard or a big man. Also since Maggette is going to make around 8 million less than Baron they could still be a key player in free agency.
they can always use tall, athletic, physical swingmen in nellie's system.. Maggette will be able to play the 2, 3 or 4 for nelson next year.
I'd like to see Maggette play the 4 in the west. They can pull that when they play Dirk. But the rest of the west will eat him up.
Pretty good day for the Rockets, and other contenders in the West. The Spurs don't get Maggette. Warriors get a bit worse and the Clippers get a bit worse. East gets another decent team, so maybe the Celtics don't waltz through the regular season so easily again. Not bad at all.
