Agreed. He's making complete fools out of Noah and Tyrus Thomas. Thomas should have skipped summer league because he's just displaying, once again, he hasn't improved one iota.

I have to disagree... Joakim Noah is 6'11'' and can walk and chew gum at the same time-- which means some team would have taken a chance on him. He is not the first raw big man to get drafted high. Frankly, I think he can be pretty useful.

John Paxson missed it out again.

Beasley is the best player in the draft.

Rose is not at D Will or C Paul level and wont be.

What? After one dominant game, you've already declared Rose a bust and Beasley a best-in a SUMMER GAME?!?

Okay Mr. Official NBA scout. You think Rose is a bust already?

Okay then, I gonna bet against you then.

    Okay, learn to read.

When did i say Rose is a bust?

    But Beasley > Rose.

    And C Paul/D Will > Rose.

Rose is pretty nice when they're running up and down. He's struggling in half court but i think anyone would expect that out of a rookie PG who is adjustign to a new system. Not to mention Vinny Del Negro doesnt look like he's coaching at all..

There was a reason Rose was picked first, because he has greater potential than Beasley. He projects to be a better version Deron Williams, and already has better athleticism and quickness, although slight less bulk (but thats not necessarily bad either). Tell me, how does that make Beasley better than Rose, especially based on the results of one SUMMER game?

    A couple of more thoughts:

1 You guys who say with certainty that Rose will not be as good as Deron Williams and Chris Paul must not have seen them much as rookies. If you had, you would definitely not have seen them developing into the 3rd year players that they are.

2 Just imagine Beasley playing with a healthy Wade. When teams double Wade, Beasley will destroy them. It will make his rookie year a LOT easier for him. He might have a rookie season for the ages. If the Heat can get a decent PG, they will scare the Eastern conference again.

In comparing the two, don't read so much into just one summer league game, especially the first one. It took Rose a while to take over the Memphis team. By tourney time, he was on another level. I think the heartbreaking loss to Tennessee fired him up. Meanwhile, Beasley exploded out of the gate at K-State. I expect a similar result their rookie seasons, especially because Rose is a PG and Beasley's role will just be to score.

Beasley put up better numbers than Durant. People don't seem to be as hyped about him for some reason.

Maybe I just have irrational hate for the dude. ;)

I see that he didn't get much better after I left to go to class though.. I just feel like he's been overrated for a long time and I like to think that his hype rather than his height got him selected in the draft.

Summer league doesn't really mean much. I mean Aaron Brooks was the best player of the summer league last year and we all saw his rookie season.

It was (1) hype and (2) the notion he would work hard and to better his skills once he got to the NBA. Based on his father's personality, I strongly disputed #2 and it's coming to pass. Neither Joakim Noah nor his father are driven individuals who maximize their talents. Both have a lot of interests outside of their chosen sport that distract them. Joakim is basically a chip off the old block except, in their case, the old block had a boatload more tennis talent than the son has basketball talent.

I predict Noah will have a decent year when his contract comes up, and after signing, he will regress.

I'd say the same thing about Tyrus Thomas, but I'm not sure he has the mental fortitude to play hard for an entire NBA season. It's difficult enough to get him to play hard an entire game. Maybe I have an irrational dislike for Tyrus Thomas because I think he's an arrogant jerk who has zero reason to be arrogant, but is too stupid to realize it. Then again, maybe that's totally rational.

If your hate for TT is rational so is mine. I have hated that kid ever since he was in the SEC too. Now don't get me wrong I don't dislike all SEC players that aren't at UK. I loved David Lee when he was at Florida. I loved Al Horford at Florida... I just hated many of their teammates. I loved Big Baby... hated TT. Maybe its just that I like hustling big guys and detest athletic over rated guys. hmmm. :)
