I haven't watched a movie in god knows how long. Name some good movies that are out on DVD to rent. Thanks.
German film, The Lives of Others, is great...like really good story and background about the actor in it was an amazing read. There Will Be Blood is good if you have the patience..it's intense 3:10 to Yuma was a badass western with Christian Bale & Russell Crowe Before the Devil knows you're Dead is really good Zodiac is good, not great but good Superbad/Knocked up were both funny Charlie Wilson's War was alright, kinda funny/drama Eastern Promises was a good movie. Atonement is pretty good and a sad WW2-time movie I'd recommend 3:10 to Yuma for action, Lives of Others for drama. Its subtitled though.
^^I agree with most of your choices and especially The Lives of Others. It is probably one of the best films I've ever seen.
A good guilty pleasure movie I just bought....Tokyo Drift...after watching it a couple of times I can say I definitely like it better than the first Fast and Furious (which is a good B movie in its own right but probably would be nothing if not for Vin Diesel). Another movie I plan on buying and just rented is Stardust. It seemed to pass through theater last year without much fanfare (some piss poor marketing) but its a great movie...if you like fantasy adventure and you liked Princess Bride you'd like this.
If you're looking for a movie for some laughs, you can't go wrong with Shaun of the Dead. One of my favorite movies.
Watch all of the Harry Potter movies that are out. Don't forget to go out and catch Hancock while still in theaters. Gives you some insight about The Avengers movie coming out in 2012.
Synopsis Get ready for the most gruesome, terrifying, and disturbing film you've ever seen. Four months after pregnant Sarah loses her husband in a horrific auto accident, she is visited on Christmas Eve by a mysterious madwoman. Alone and desperate to save her unborn child, Sarah fights to stay alive as each of her potential rescuers die at the woman's sadistic hands. With scene after scene of shocking carnage and escalating mayhem, Inside delivers unbelievably realistic gore that dares you not to look away.
I recommend The Hammer starring Adam Carolla. It's a movie that basically no-one has seen, but it's very good. It's a boxing movie where Adam's character makes a run at the Olympic trials. It's got humor, a nicely balanced love story, and just enough social commentary to make it realistic without being heavy. If you think Adam Carolla is funny at all, then you'll probably like this movie.
Thanks for the review, I was going to follow up on it eventually, but got lazy... Now I will rent it...
You liked it? I thought the previews made it look cool but the movie itself wasn't all that great. Maybe I need to give it a second chance.
Somebody Up There Likes Me His breakthrough film! Newman slugs his way onto the Hollywood map in the tale of boxing champ Rocky Graziano. Robert Wise directs. 2 Academy Awards®: Best B&W Cinematography and Art Direction/Set Direction.
I actually thought the movie looked stupid from the trailer, maybe that's why I liked it, as I had really low expectations. It's a nice flick to just watch and shut your mind off for 2 hours.
jumper? i think he was being sarcastic... to go old school on yall: the bridge over the river kwai i saw it on hdmovies the other day
