I was ran into Stromile Swift during his brief stint in Houston. I was excited and started talking about set plays and such. He just looked at me, did his little bird sign that he does, and ran away. He was gone by the following draft.

Answers to various questions posed in this thread (I'm paraphrasing) 1. Why is it a big deal that T-Mac was shopping at Target? I think that even though these athletes are all just people, their fame often precludes us from seeing them in everyday settings. It's just too difficult for them to do things like shop or go to the movies very often b/c they get swarmed by fans wanting pics and autographs. My nephew was in the same class as T-Mac's lil girl and I was always looking out for him whenever I picked my nephew up (never saw him though- and it was his wife that did all the parent stuff). 2. Why does Shaq live in Sugar Land? Shaq doesn't actually live here as far as I know. If I'm not mistaken, he owns a house here that one of his baby's mama's live in. In fact, it was in the news a few years ago when his maid's son shot her. 3. What is Sugar Land? Originally, it was a small town outside Houston that was the headquarters for the Imperial Sugar company. The town was pretty rural back in the day. Check out the movie "The Sugar Land Express" with a young Goldie Hawn and you wouldn't even recognize it compared to today's Sugar Land. Today, Sugar Land is one of the fastest growing cities in Texas. In 2006 CNN/Money and Money magazine ranked Sugar Land third on its list of the 100 Best Cities to Live in the United States. In 2007, CQ Press has ranked Sugar Land fifth on its list of Safest Cities in the United States. In 2008, Forbes.com selected Sugar Land as one of the three Houston-area "Top Suburbs To Live Well," noting its affluence despite its large population.
Well, atleast he did when he was the Franchise. I got his autograph there back in his soph year. He was walking around at Randalls in New Territory with a cart of stuff- and was balancing a magazine on his head the entire time.

Not anymore. I live in Memorial. The summer we traded Francis to Orlando he moved into a big house here. Yao also moved from Katy to Memorial just a few minutes from Stevie, but then he moved again soon after that when he got married.
I saw Rebecca Lobo once at the airport, she sat a few seats away from me. Only one person recognized her, I didn't even know who she was until the lady next to me asked her if she was a WNBA player.

Stevie Franchise used to live in Greatwood when he first started with the Rox. I thought he lived closer to the Galleria now (his house was on Cribs or some show like that a few yrs back). Barkley lived in New Territory back when he played for us. I've run into a few Rocket's in the past. Back in the day, I saw Mad Max and OT at Bennigan's on Kirby after a game. They were walking out with 2 girls that they were getting numbers from. I ran into Dikembe last year downtown in the Continental building. He was late for a meeting and asking what floor he was supposed to go to. I ran into Clyde a few months ago in the lobby of Toyota Center while I was waiting for my ticket agent to bring me some paperwork. He was late for some awards luncheon and the security guard wouldn't let him in b/c he was unescorted! Clyde was pissed (and definitely not the cheery guy you see on TV). Lucky for him, some employee who happened to be walking by saw him and let him in.

I saw Kenny Smithy (~15 years ago) in ihop. Got his autograph! 59 and Corporate Eddie Griffin lived down the street from me, I delivered him pizza a few times. Covington Woods (near Kempner) I saw Calvin Murphy in the Randalls on sweetwater. He was a dick to me me =/
