We're trying to find a place to set off our stash tonight, and wondering where it's okay to do it, considering the po-po's seem to crack down hard on this. I know Katy and some places in the Friendswood area are okay, but we're considering the beach this year. Apparently, Crystal Beach is a hot spot but it's quite a drive. Anyone know if the west end of the island (the drive heading toward San Luis Pass) is okay? There is just a long stretch of beaches there and thought that'd be a good place to do it. Also, the area around George Bush Park near Katy seems like a good area bc there's nothing really around, just open land, but don't know if it's okay. Anyone have info on this?

They sell fireworks like crazy in Katy up and down the southside of I10 on Mason Rd. They should be having clearance sales to by midnight.

We can do them in Stafford. It's legal according to SPD.

Update: No, that stretch heading towards San Luis Pass is not okay. My group went down there tonight, a little past Jamaica Beach - about an hour in, the po-po show up. He let us go without slapping us with a fine, so we were very fortunate considering the amount we had. But according to the po-po, basically every area on that island is Galveston City Limits, except Jamaica Beach.

It was a bit strange because there was a group finishing up right when we got there, and apparently they have been going at it for DAYS. I'm thinking it had something to do with the late hours that we were setting them off (past midnight).

Anyway, we still got about half the stash...I guess it's going off on New Years.
