Elton Brand's Bulls lost big tonight. He didn't have a good night, just 11 points (but still 11 boards).

I'm not into Stevie winning the ROY because of Brand's fall, but it does help a bit.

Here's to hope Stevie will play like last night the rest of the season. I don't think he's been out of the race yet.

    What do you guys think?

Francis has a great chance to win that honor.
I just hope that if he did, he wouldn't get a blown up ego.

A few of his comments last night on TNT made me think he doesnt' think of himself in any less terms than "I'm the Man" or "I'm the Rockets Savior"... maybe I'm wrong, and maybe he is those things for the Rockets, whether he feels like that or not...

I'd just as soon rather him not get the award if he'd be that way though. We need a leader, yes. But not a "player"... that is, unless he'll always remain a "team first player."

I'd hate to see him get overly cocky, because he's already got the "swagger."

I also feel like he may not totally realize the greatness of Hakeem... maybe so, but he seemed to incenuate that he felt Dream was just a ball hog, or that Dream wanted the ball too much - like he's trying to take Dream's place as "top dog" already.

Just my observations, my personal interpretation.

He could've been joking (in all seriousness). But what if he wasn't joking? That would be terribly serious.

No offense Rocketability, but you know what?

    SCREW ROY!!!!!

Too much buzz around ROY, and it doesn't really mean anything. I secretly hope Francis loses ROY, cuz I want him to have a chip on his shoulder coming into the 01 season.

Remember the Alamodome? When Robinson was awarded MVP rite in front of Olajuwon. That fired Hakeem up. Perhaps losing ROY will light a similar fire under Francis, cuz I'm pretty sure that winning it won't do a damn thing for him.

First of all, where are you getting your numbers from?! Steve's 5th in rebounding according to the NBA (through March 8), not 3rd. He's 6th in FT %age, not 1st. He's 4th in 3pt %age, not 3rd and at 31.8%, it sucks. Three-pointers made only lets me know he jacks up 3 pointers; as stated before his %age is not good.

Secondly, come on, you're trying to tell me Mr. Brand's #'s don't "touch those"? :

    Points per game : 1st
    Rebs per game : 1st
    Blocks per game : 1st
    Double-doubles : 1st
    Minutes/game : 2nd
    FG %age : 4th

If I wanted Brand to win ROY I would have posted about him instead of Francis.

Not to say Brand is not deserving of ROY as well but he doesn't have to try and get everyone else into the game like Steve does.

The #'s came from the Rockets official website eblastoff.Perhaps if they are incorrect you could notify them as well.Thank you

It really isn't a big deal about Stevie winning the ROY, but my point is it's a bonus if he can win it.

    Dr of Dunk:

You're right, MAN! Elton Brand is now the favorite of the ROY this year. Obviously, Stevie has fallen into the 2nd or 3rd place in the race.

In terms of my bonus-theory, I just wish Stevie the best the rest of the season. Just playing like he did last night (vs. the Jazz) isn't enough to win it.

Again, I'm not extremely into Stevie winning the award, just like I am not about Mobe winning the 6th man award. But sometimes I'm thinking "better than nothing" for the Rockets organization this year where they are not going to make the playoffs.

Kind of sad! [IMG] Rebuilding pain ......
