Yeah I was thinking "did he kill himself out of frustration becase there was a disc read error?"

Poor kid. His description definitely screams emo. Bad temper, likes to scream, has dry humour. I dunno, my cousin is a little 15 year old emo and sounds a LOT like this kid.

I blame the parents. Never have the Wii on the same TV used for primary TV watching when you have multiple kids. You always need that back-up TV for the gaming console...in case the primary TV is in use by another family member...even if it's just a small TV. Ask Dadakota about this (except I think he has a gaming console paired with each TV...lol). He will tell you.

Some kids just can't wait their turn...obviously.

Not necessarily. Kids like this often pull these stunts in order to get their parents attention, trying to illustrate how angry they are or how bad they've been hurt. It's an escalation of locking yourself in your room and not talking to anybody for a day or two. This kid could have gone through the motions, wanting to be caught in the act. And while he might have thought he had full control of the situation, things might have gotten to the point to where he couldn't recover.

I agree that maybe the parents downplayed his previous tantrums. It sounds like maybe this kid could have had some mental health issues and should have been treated for depression.

A r****ded 13 year old hangs himself because he couldn't figure out how to play Wii.

That is what I interpreted from the title. The actual story is not as sad.

i agree with that...albeit going through the motions of hanging yourself while trying not to actually go through with it but, rather, attract attention...i would say that doesn't work very well cause, once you start, there's not really any going back at that point, i.e. if your hanging, then it's probably not going to be easy to help yourself out of it...and parents don't have impeccable timing to catch you in the act and help you. it seems like this kid was spoiled rotten...and didn't know how to handle not getting his way.

in other words, i agree...kids do dumb things which can result in tragedy...albeit not any kids i have ever known. the best way to get attention is to break something that makes a loud noise. why you would ever pretend to hang yourself for attention...? these damn kids these days.

When kids are pissed off, they can do seriously irrational things. He didn't necessarily want to kill himself. In the back of his mind, he might have thought that he could untie himself before he gets seriously hurt.

Didn't mean to hang himself? What did he do? "oops, I slipped off my chair that I'm standing on while tying my tie to a bar, now my head is between that neat little circle, what a coincidence! Hmmmm.'

    That's one tantrum ridden boy.

odd story, at 13 years old most children wouldn't kill themselves for not getting what they want.

This is definitely outside of the norm.

I think the mom just calls the Wii a computer game. Not that the boy tried to play a computer rom on the Wii. Technically it has a computer chip, thus it can be called a computer game (or computer system). This is why kids should get spanked. My little cousins would never do this because he would be afraid my uncle would beat his ass for evening throwing a fit. Btw, my uncle is the nicest guy so don't get the wrong idea.

if he really wanted to get his parents attention, then he would have tied one end of a rope around his ball sac and the other end around a heavy object. then, tossed the heavy object over the bed to where the string pulls tight. the screeching moan he would have let out would have attracted the parents for sure...and the sympathy garnered would have resulted in immediate access to play the Wii. Don't forget the ice pack.

Don't ever hang yourself for attention. Noone can hear you hanging. Hang your balls, however, and everyone will hear you. Whatever.

I'm sorry he died...but as has been established...some comedy can be spun from it because it really is a pathetically stupid scenario.
