Billy Joel once said that "Only the Good Die Young" was originally meant to be a reggae song.

I'd love to here a reggae artist cover it.

widespread panic does a fantastic cover of jj cale's "ride me high." probably one of my favorite covers of all time.

    A few ideas:

Slow these way down and give them a blues treatment:

    Abra Moore: "Strangest Places"
Alan Parsons Project: "Don't Answer Me"

    Give these a reggae treatment:

    Beatles: "I'll Follow The Sun"
Night Ranger: "Don't Tell Me You Love Me"

I'd like to hear any contemporary rock band do the whole Jesus Christ Superstar album. Maybe different bands for different songs.

I have always thought about redoing a classical piece with about 10 electric guitars. (think moonlight sonata with a distorted wah wah)

    covers piss me off.

if a song is not great on its own, whats the point of covering it?

and if a song IS great, I dont want anyone messing with it!
