I know what he/she put, I was guessing that he made a typing mistake.

I like it. He's not going to bend over for Mr. 3%.

It could also mean they're prepared to make some kind of trade?

Maybe even agree not to match another team's offer for Landry in exchange for a trade that favors the Rockets.

    The Rockets have options.

I would LOVE having Barry. And I would take Horry, too. Great to hear that we are keeping Novak as well.

I hope we can package Jackson and Head (and possibly someone else) for someone good.

Looks like this is what we would have now if we actually got Barry and Horry on board:

    PG: Alston, Brooks, Francis, Jackson
    SG: McGrady, Barry, Head
    SF: Battier, Novak, Greene, Harris
PF: Scola, Landry, Hayes, Dorsey, Horry
    C: Yao, Mutombo, Woods

I would love to get Camby somehow...seems like Denver wants to get rid of him. Don't want to keep Woods. Seems like we have a huge logjam at the forward positions...might want to trade someone to Memphis for one of their point guards (Conley, Crittenton, Lowry). If we could get someone like Billups, it would be a dream...

Just getting a healthy Francis back would be a big bonus already.

Okay, so how about this one ;).

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Houston and Detroit being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Detroit had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Detroit would also get a first-round pick (I'd even give them two!) and a second-round pick from us, Memphis its second-round pick back.

    Then we would have:

    PG: Billups, Alston, Brooks
    SG: McGrady, Barry, Francis
SF: Battier, Novak, Greene or Harris
    PF: Scola, Landry, Horry
    C: Yao, Mutombo, Dorsey

I would go to war with that team .

Detroit supposedly wants to rebuild, Billups has a pretty big contract and is 31 or so. I know it's a long shot ;).

The LLE is close to $1.7M, the vet's min is $1.2M, and minimum contracts less. That's all the Rockets can offer free agents this off-season.

Landry is going take up the full MLE even if the Rockets eventually won't sign him for that amount. The Rockets will make their $2-3.5M offer which Landry wisely won't accept it until the very end just in case another team does offer him the full MLE.

the way i see it, if al of these signings go down, harris and woods are cut as they are not guaranteed. but then there must be some sort of 2-for-1 deal to get down to 15.

i think morey wants to keep jackson and steve's ending deals to the deadline.

luther and chuck are the most likely package to and the summer, though i don't know what the rockets can get in return.

For those who are bichen about the possibility of signing Horry. We had Loran freakin Woods on our roster last year. Horry would be a role player as he has been nearly his entire career. He can do things that are important for the succes of this team. Hit the 3, Deliver great entry pass into the post, defend tall perimiter players and all this for next to nothing. Yes he is old but he knows how to play next to great big men. With 15 roster spots you might as well have some vets at the end of the bench that can come in and offer something in certain situations. Signing him would be nothing but benificial.

Well history says Horry is championship. Everywhere he went he won a championship right? So if he comes back he will win another one with the Rockets :). Anyway hopefully we resign Landry and Barry is welcome too. Barry just needs to shoot that 3 and it's all good.

we need to sign Landry, he`s very valuable for us now and down the road, barry will give us a couple of years, but not much longer. we don`t need to get older, we need to get more competitive and athletic.

barry would be fine, because of his bb iq and his shooting, as well as horry, but then we have 4 new players.

    horry
    barry
    dorsey
    greene.

we need to get rid of luther, hayes, francis, bobby jackson.

if we can get another pg, then get rid of rafer and novak...

Morey is trying to add champion mentality but both Barry and Horry are too old to contribute throughout the whole season. Their value will be in locker room and maybe several minutes in playoffs.

By coming forward with this in public...that's what I am thinking! But remember the Spurs did something similar with Batum and we picked him (and then traded him). Lets not mention that they may be sour because of Scola as well. So, maybe to piss us off they will grab Landry!

It could be 50/50 smokescreen & truth.

Landry's agent was difficult for Morey the last time they negotiated a contract.

    Then there's this:
    http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2008/06/feeling_a_draft_what_the_rocke.html
Remember all the calamity on this board by some posters who were very angry with the Rockets who they claimed were hiding the truth about Landry's injury situation?
