I don't know if that is true, but louisiana hot sauce and butter is the traditional "sauce" for buffalo wings. Of course, they have a bunch of variations now, but that was the original. Again, I have no idea.......but I "doubt" the recipe on the side of the bottle would mention dredging in flour. I believe the original recipe simply calls for frying the wings without anything on them.

I prefer a thin coating of flour............just like on my fried chicken. I do NOT like a think breading like Hooters, but to each his own.

Buffalo Wild Wings or Bw3 (whatever you call it) is pretty good and had some good sauces like MAGO HABENERO.

A good environment to eat in also

I know that very few of you will be but if you're ever in Little Rock, Arkansas go to the Embassy Suites located there and you will find The Athletic Club. Best wings I have ever had.

I was not stating that you were stealing the recipe by the way but that it looked like a basic recipe with variations. I believe you're right, that the original recipe just calls for the wings to be fried sans flour.

When I make them at home I prefer to fry them first to and what I like to add to my flour is curry powder. Something about the curry flavor mixing with the hot sauce flavors then the ranch dip is very delicious. :)

Wild Wing Cafe ftw, especially their Ranchilada and Slayer flavors. Since Wild Wing has been open in Katy, I think I've eaten at BW3 once and probably won't go back unless I'm with a group who wants to go there.

Second best. See MadMax's and my post. :D

Really though - Pluckers quality has severely declined in the past 5 years. It's very hit-or-miss now. Lately I've missed more than I've hit.

I agree that Pluckers isn't as good as it used to be (pretty bad now, actually), but Wing Zone is and always has been cookie-cutter corporate trash.

Besides, they're from Atlanta...aka Houston Lite.

I've heard nothing but good things about that place. Wish they would open one closer to town.

I went back to Pluckers about 5 months ago - I thought it was still good, but maybe I hit it on a good day. I just like the variety there. I don't know if I've been to a wing zone, do they have as many flavors as Pluckers?

    well that's just wrong.

pluckers went hard around 3:30 in the morning, though... chicken strips, waffle fries, fried pickles, and several sides of ranch delivered.

Thanks for this -- I will give it a go one of these days.

Does anyone have a recipe for cajun style fried chicken?

Am trying to replicate Popeyes (since they dont have this or any other fried chicken joints where I live).

www.wingzone.com they have 25 flavors if memory serves me.

Grandpappy - I don't care about WingZone's origins - they serve stuff that I like more than everyone else.

WingZone is the shizz. There used to be one near my house at Fondren & South Braeswood that delivered to my place. DANGER!! It closed down unfortunately, and now the closest one to me is at Chimney Rock & Westheimer. :(

the best sauce to use for wings is Franks Red Hot Sauce, they are specially for wings and taste better than the lousiana sauce. thats what dominos used to use on their hot wings...then they switched to their own recipe which doesnt taste the same,
