That is true and now I try to avoid getting into fights as much as possible. As I tell people I train in martial arts a street / bar fight isn't the same as a match in a dojo. You could be the biggest badass on the mat but could be taken down by slipping on some spilt beer and cracking your skull as you try to set up your best technique.
Getting into fights as an adult is stupid. Too many consequences. However, fights in grade school were awesome.
What about keepin' it real? I'm telling you if a busta accidentally steps on my Pumas, I'm gonna clap back.
I tried that ***** once and they crowded on me. Not doing that again. Hmm you may have a point here. I might have to change my stance regarding this. But only in front of the ladies.. if I'm alone, I'm taking off.
Well this other guy was less well liked in my dorm than me so few people were going to back him up. Context always matters.
I was in 7th or 8th grade, and this one dude and his posse kept ragging on me and teasing me for most of the year. We played basketball a lot in gym class and he always seemed to be on the team opposite me. Well, one day he was guarding me and kept shoving me...not even like physical defense, but plain SHOVING me over and over. After a while, I just dropped the ball (had my back to him), whirled around and used my momentum to punch him in the gut as hard as I could. He dropped to the ground. So, trying to act like the tough guy I wasn't, I turned my back to him and strolled back up to the top of the key like I had nothing to worry about. Well, he came flying at me from behind and punched me in the back of the head. I lost my balance and fell down on the ground and then the coaches showed up and broke it up before anything else could happen. Oddly enough, after that mini-fight, that dude never messed with me and even helped me up from the ground when I got into a mini-tussle later on that year. I guess I earned his respect. He's still a b****, though.
