I did a search and can't believe this isn't anywhere on the board.. Wanted is another comic-to-movie flick that I eagerly awaited and got a chance to watch it with my wife yesterday. She actually liked it more than I expected. That may be because I was trying to recognize the difference between the comic and movie. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes pure action. It's a lengthy runtime at close to two hours but the plot keeps moving til the very end. For the people who have read the comic series, the major difference is they took out all the stereotypical super-villianesque themes completely; costumes, monsters, super-powers (the main character has a super-human ability i would say) but they got the mood of the story pretty well and it's as violent and vulgar as the comic is but even then it's toned down in comparison. I would definately check it out. I would NOT suggest taking the kids as even my wife said the movie made her feel like killing peo
i liked it quite a bit. saw it right after seeing get smart, which was also good, so i was treated to 4 straight hours of anne hathaway and angelina jolie in all their big screen glory. can't complain.
I had low expectations going in. I saw curving bullets in the preview and I was like...lame. but I liked the comedy factor and the action although very unrealistic was amazing. Id recommend it. Its great entertainment.
Yeah, I couldn't believe there wasn't a thread for this either when I searched for it last night. This movie was freakin' badass. Spoiler The scene where Gibson charged into the factory and started killing everyone was awesome.
I reeeeeeeally want to see this. From the first time I saw the preview I thought it would be a movie I'd enjoy. I might see it by myself sometime this week. Seems like a flick I'd want to be fully engrossed in. I like James McAvoy, so that's a plus.
Saw it Friday night, sold out showing. Funny with great action. Plot is a little weak, but obviously not the main selling point. I'd describe it as Fight Club + The Matrix.
You gotta be kidding me, Shoot Em Up was hilarious. I laughed throughout the whole thing it was so overtly and purposely over the top.
I thought Wanted was pretty average. Considering all the hype, I'd say it fell well short of expectations..at least mine. Just too predictable in every way.. I guess overall it was okay. Maybe I'd give it 3.5/5. Spoiler I wish they had left out the last line.. that was just stupid to me..
Wow. I saw this last night, and thought it was pretty stupid. I guess I was expecting too much. The movie really oversells itself in the opening scenes. The action is good, but the plot was just baaaad. Spoiler Are we REALLY supposed to believe that the Fraternity chooses its victims based on a mysterious giant LOOM of DEATH? COME ON! Spoiler Oh, and Angelina killing herself pretty much shot down any chance of a sequel, thank GOD!
DO NOT PAY TO SEE THIS MOVIE. if you see it for free, then thats okay. It had too many moments wehre you're just like WTF. both in the plot and action scenes. the plot was lame/cliche....and you if love angelina jolie, you wont after seeing her anorexic, tatted up body.
My wife and I went to see it yesterday. The story line was completely over the top (in a completely unbelievable way). It started with the opening sequence of the movie and continued on throughout the film. I mean they showed most of the exciting scenes in the previews. I have to agree with someone who mentioned previously that the scene where he comes back to the factory was very cool. The business with the loom was the thing that just made it go completely over the top... 2.5 out of 5 stars Angeline Jolie did look very good throughout the movie...
I really enjoyed it. The loom was beyond silly...but at that point I was willing to suspend my disbelief on the possibility of a person's heart being capable of beating 400 times a minute and that it was somehow possible to "curve" a bullet's path. So that didn't ruin the movie for me. The action scenes were top notch. Spoiler Jolie's turning at the end and killing every single person in that room with one bullet was a little bothersome. I mean, I know Wesley was hurt bad and probably wasn't going to kill all those assasins...but it would have been nice for him to participate. Especially after that freaking Mona Lisa of an action sequence between the garbage truck and the staircase. If you could bottle up that sequence, you're talking PURE adrenaline. And if anyone is avoiding this because of Jolie, don't. She's not any good, and the brief nude scene where she walks off naked and you see her butt only emphasized to me how far she has fallen. Her arms and legs are all spindly now, and even though her butt still looked good, I had a hard time enjoying her at all in this movie (I've never thought she was all that amazing to begin with, but she has been pretty hot in some movies past). However, saying all that, she does very little in this film. Most of the time she is just standing back watching what is happening. Her direct involvement in the movie is pretty minimal, so she didn't really bother me.
Yea, my mass comm prof kept pimping out this movie during class because of that. Also I'm surprised it's doing good on Rotten Tomatoes. When I first saw the trailer months ago, I thought it was just another stupid special fx movie. I'll have to check it out.
