It was bad coverage and it got me thinking about basketball coverage in general.

When JVG is talking, I feel like I'm getting an insiders point of view. Everything he says is interesting, he brings up things you didnt know and he gives the point of view of someone who knows their *****.

With every other commentator, its like they talk just to hear there own voice. You dont learn anything, they tell you stuff you already knew or dont care about.

They need more guys like JVG commentating the game. Guys that havent got pre-programed phrases, but who actually talk about the game because they know the game.

Stu Scott when Patrick Ewing Jr. got drafted " Is it 1985 in here?" corny and cliche

Except for Van Gundy, it truly sucked. Who was the pathetic blonde doing the sappy interviews with family members? She stunk!

oh and who the heck is Wendy Nix and who thought it would be funny/clever to have her do all the Knicks interviews?

Here is wendy Nix talking to the Knick coach about the newest Knick just in the nick of time.

and to top it all off she was a terrible interviewer and had bad camera awareness/presence

Stuart Scott has always been a poser. He talks too much as oppsed to someone like Tirico who sets things up for the analysts. And, I still can't help but focus on his mis-matched eye thing.
Even though he seemed much more mellow this year, Stephen A. Smith was still too obnoxious for me to ever want to hear/see him.
The interview with Larry Bird had to be the most useless I ahve ever seen. They kept asking him about Indy's trades, and he kept answering with "That's all speculation...we're glad we have 'x' player " (who they're about to trade).
I like Bilas offering some breakdown of the players strength and weaknesses with Van Gundy chiming in on the bigger picture with how they fit into the NBA team.

Scott is the worst offender when it comes to constantly reminding us that Tmac has not gotten out of the 1st round. It was funny when Stern was already at the podium, and Stu had to speed up so he could fit that little reminder in. Seemed like Stern just started talking right over him a few times.

I absolutely could not BELIEVE when he did that. It was like, "the Rockets are 0-7 in the first round of the post season" (David Stern starts walking to the podium), "andasweallknowTracyMcGradyhasn'tEVERbeentothesecondroundandthat'sallyouneedtoknowabouttheRocketsEVER!!!!" God, I really hope that both Stuart Scott and Mark Jackson both get relegated to doing WNBA games soon.

    Stu Scott sucks donkey balls.

Despite his repetition with key phrases, Bilas was solid as always. Mark Jackson interjects his bland commentary into every discussion, but he was bearable. JVG is always the man, but the later into the draft it went, the less insight he was able to offer...

It was ok. Vitale actually didn't annoy me this year. Especially cause they only interviewed him like 2 times.

I love how JVG showed his man love for Yao. He was gushing on and on about Yao making Stern wait for 30 seconds to announce the Rocket's pick.

Watch Stump the Schwab, then you will understand.

ESPN sucks. TNT should become the new NBA network. The crew is great.

I didn't have access to watch any of the coverage from where I'm at. How did Yao make Stern wait for 30 secs?

it was about to be the rockets pick, and they were talking about the rocekets. steward scott talks about mcgrady not making to the 2nd round. and then someone else asked jvg if yao is playing in the olympics.

jvg says for sure he'll play, cause thats his dream. and then he goes on and on, how he has to change his worth ethic to not be injured as much.

steward scot sucks. so corny and not funny one bit. comes up with the stupidist "interesting" record. quite frankly, (i can't believe i'm saying this) i miss stephen A. Smith. hes better than scott...

and jvg had no perfect timing on what/when he is going to say. he looked lost. he'd be quite for a whole 5 minutes then say something. it may be him, or the crew aren't used to one or another.

I liked Bilas and that international info guy. it helped me understand some players i never heard of.
