Well, the interesting thing is that I've never been big and bulky in my life, especially back then. In fact, I looked pretty scrawny and plently agile.

As for Dorsey, I don't think he's worried about focusing too much on strength training. He is, in his own words, a football player playing basketball. Almost everything he's expected to do on the court only becomes easier with increased strength. For a guy of his size and skill set, I would expect a higher max bench...that's all I'm saying.

Its pretty impressive considering he has a wingspan of over 7 foot and probably doesnt do a whole lot of weight lifting.

    Internet weight lifters are hysterical...

Yeah, I benched 300 pounds also. I was short. It was easier. Anyone with a brain in their head should be able to comprehend the physics behind that.

Dude, it's different when you are 6'9" and sprinting up and down a basketball court every day. The guy is a straight up FREAK.

275 is nothing for someone who has actually lifted for a while, especially if you are talking about one rep max, and are shorter.

It has much to do with technique and CNS recruitment.

    Back on topic:

The funniest thing I heard is when MattJ asked him if he knew about Deke's elbows and how they have a funny way of finding rookies in camp.

Dorsey said he didn't know about that, but he said "Well, if that happens then we're gonna throw down".

    It cracked me up because:

    a) Deke could probably still kick anyone's *ss after his elbow made the usual solid contact, and...

    b) The whole team would jump Dorsey and probably do something terrible to him.

    I can't wait. :D

For a "guy his size" Shaquille O'Neal was weak at bench press. He was well under 300 at first, if i remember right. Now he can lift 450 or so. All it shows is he didnt weight train that much, and measuring their bench means if its low they got to spend a little extra on personal trainers....

where did you hear shaq put up 450? my best was 330 2x I'm 6 ft and was 205 lbs. but i couldn't run up and down that court 40 minutes either, cause cardio eats at your muscle mass, thats why those long distance runners look flabby even when there skinny. the guys huge, he will hold his own in the paint

WTF! What the hell are you talking about? I have never seen a long distance runner that looked "flabby".
