now we dont need loren woods $998,398 boddy jackson $6,090,000 or luther head $1,962,378 and aaron brooks $1,045,560 we should packege them up $10,455,560 and cash, send them to sacramento for ron artest $8,450,000 and fransico garcia $ 1,983,453 and together totals up to 10,433,453 id say we would have the deal becasue they get a good back up vetren pg behind udrih and a future pg aaron brooks and a 3pt shooter which they need and a much needed backup center. for the rockets this helps them right away a fantastic 3rd scorer and a defencive player comparable to battier or even better and a 3 pt shooter in garcia who could spread the floor cause of t mac and yao and hit the wide open 3 so what do yall say ???

Why do people like htownbball think that they must make stupid threads? We all found this out ourselves already; thanks for insulting everyone's intelligence.

This thread has gone on for 8 pages. Clearly, SOMEBODY wants to talk about these two.

I love the trade, but we still need a backup Center with some height! We need another 7 footer please!

They would never trade Fransisco Garcia unless they were getting SERIOUS value in return. Plus, why does everyone want to trade Aaron Brooks? Or Bobby Jackson? Trade Battier....

Okay. My assesment on this draft class is an A+. Before ya'll start to roll your eyes or blow me off, hear me out. First off I think Daryl Morey did a great job strategizing and scouting this draft. By strategizing I mean the #25 pick Nicolas Batum that was GENIUS. The best thing he could have done for the conference all around. Even though we traded Batum I love the move cause it kept him off the spurs. When most people were confused with the pick I understood it through and through, you see the spurs picked right after the Rockets and since Batum was still on the board that meant Morey knew the spurs were taking him so he swooped in and saved the day. We were good whether we kept him or traded him, meanwhile the whole time we had the pick I was screaming at the tv to pick Donte Greene and we accomplished that while also picking up a great defensive/energy palyer in Joey Dorsey and getting an extra 2009 2nd round pick. I really believe that Greene was the best available for the Rockets needs and that he will pan out to be an awsome player in the league.

Who have ya'll been watching, dont get me wrong but garcia isnt that good. I mean he could be if he works at it but you probably dont need a lot to take him from sac. What he probably meant to say is we dont need chuck hayes and loren woods and luther head. But we need to keep Aaron Brooks. I agree trade battier and stevie.

Well its apparent Gerald Green has a spot on the roster , IF he is up to it. I guess we are going to keep Rafer.

Elton Brand is not walking through that door :( :( .

overall, i liked this trade but as other people have mentioned, joey isn't a good freethrow shooter and that's a big problem for us because we already suck at the line...just hope everyone improves their free throw shooting

Why did everybody keep saying Greene is a good shooter?

    FG% .418 FT% .707 3P% .345 is far from being good.

Where have you heard that Gerald Green has a spot on our roster? I don't believe that. Why are you bringing up the redundant fact that we are keeping Rafer? All three sentences in your post don't have any transition, I really don't know what you're talking about, could you explain?

Donte was a pretty good scorer in college, 17 ppg. And also averaged 7 rpg and this was all in his first year. Wonder why he slipped so low.

Gotta agree with Flash here. I dunno after digging a bit on Greene, I think he may turn out to be a fantastic player with the Rockets. i understand all the hype the Rockets management was giving about Dorsey but hello! you just got a player who may shape up to be fixture on the wing for the Rockets for a long time. FYI still find it boggling that ESPN actually was right on the Rockets picking up Batum and then changing to Green.

Green is a morey pick. He was projected to be a fringe lottery player and we picked him in the bottom of the 2nd round. He was invited to the green room. He could have gone way earlier. His draft stock dropped for bad behavior and attitude during his NJ workout.

    Sports Illustrated
13th pick to the Portland Trailblazers

    ESPN
15th pick to the Phoenix Suns

    Fox Sports
14th pick to the Golden State Warriors

I liked the Rockets draft. I personally dont expect anything from Greene this year. Hopefully he comes in and recognizes his role with the team, works on his game and develops into a solid SF to push Battier for minutes next year.

I really think Dorsey will be a regular rotation guy as the backup center and he will cut Chuck's playing time. I dont see the Ben Wallace comparisons being completely accurate. I think he is not the defensive player of Wallace but much more comfortable with the ball in his hands. His size/quickness combo is exactly what the Rockets need to defend the large amount of teams in the West who dont play with a regular, back to the basket center on a regular basis.

The Rockets still need to address the backup SG/SF position. As someone mentioned earlier, I would love to see either Azubuike or Pietrus for the midlevel exception.

He is a good shooter, man. Its called bad shot selection, stats dont tell everything bout a player. He just needs to improve on that just like a lot of kids comin out a college.

Bad shot selection is one but his 0.707 FT% is worse than Alston! :(
