Lets get it started...I know clutch usually has it as Official so feel free to change it The players in red are most likely to be used as trade bait C: Yao/Deke PF: Scola/Landry/Dorsey/Hayes SF: Battier/Greene/Novak SG: Tmac/Head/ PG: Alston/Jackson/Brooks/Francis Major Team Needs: A third scorer Another athletic Swingman to back up Tracy Mcgrady Backup Center Lets Discuss!
I think as of right now everyone but TMac and Yao are expandable. I can't wait until Morey's next move. Hopefully it gets us Artest.
I really can't see management dealing Scola/Landry unless we get a real proven gem in return. The production we got from those two at the PF has been the best since our championship years. I think our key trading baits are Luther Head, Steve Novak, and Aaron Brooks since Head and Novak are good shooters and everyone is a sucker for a shooter and AB has great potential.
Scola and his extremely reasonable salary are more valuable than both Yao and Mcgrady atm...just my 2 cents
Maybe if Fernandez finally realises he won't get decent minutes with McMillan he'll ask for a trade? Well, that isn't likely so... Jackson (expiring) + Head (expring) + 2009 Memphis pick for Webster (expiring) + Blake (expiring/team option for 2009-10)? In the season prior to the this recent one. Apparently B;azers had a problem with Webster. He finally sorted himself out after a discussion with an assistant coach and "put his head straight" according to Jason Quick. I don't know what the problem was. Perhaps over playing time or starting role? Portland might want to trade him and avoid revisiting such a situation if they go with Outlaw as their starting SF next season. Head is cheap replacement for Jones's 3P shooting. Jackson could be the veteran McMillan covets. Blake makes the salaries work, has has one more season to go on his contract, and it's a team option Bayless (PG/SG), Blake, Rodriguez Roy, Fernandez, (Free Agent/James Jones) Webster (SG/SF), Outlaw, Batum Aldridge, Frye, Diogu Oden, Pryzbilla, LaFrentz http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/por/stats Minutes averaged per game last season: Blake: 29:53 Roy: 37:42 Webster: 28:23 Outlaw: 26:41 Jones: 22:00 Jones is a free agent. http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2008/06/james_jones_im_definitely_open.html I've been trying to dig up the interview where McMillan directly states adding a veteran should be their franchise's main priority this off-season. This was the best I could find... http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/sports/1214362513269150.xml&coll=7
My Standard for determining that was: 1. Most likely to be traded as an asset because he produced well 2. Most likely to be traded because his roster spot needs to be upgraded. I FORGOT TO PUT LUTHER HEAD IN RED AND I THINK IT IS TOO LATE TO EDIT IT.
Luther has probably got to go... <br> Anyone have an info update about that other Green guy, you know, Gerald? <br> Btw, i think you failed to include Mike Harris... <br> I don't know what they will do, but quite a few of these players will not be here at the start of training camp...
do not trade landry. honestly, i see so much potential and hype on this guy. he's so frickin exciting to watch AND he's young. he's really gonna be something for the rockets imo.
i think was should put interest into jordan farmar, phil jackson himself says that if farmar was on almost any other team then he would start PG. hes a slasher and can finish very well around the rim and even gets clutch minutes. hes young and hes cheap. i think brooks is good but is only good to play the role the bjax played in sac, the 6th man that comes off the bench with energy and quickness. meaning farmar would be the perfect fit for us when rafer moves on. i wouldnt mind dealing battier as long as we get a 3rd scorer like miller artest magette etc i really dont think having hayes is necessary b/c we now have dorsey. we should use him as trade bait, im sure many teams need a good defensive PF
