why would you believe anything this douchebag says? "McGrady and Yao have missed more games than I care to count and the Rockets have a sub .500 record when one or both players miss a game. Yao has missed 86 games the last three seasons with various foot ailments." really?...... 86 games in the last 3 seasons? hmmmm. I'm pretty sure we have a record above .500 with out Yao also.
I like the way Morey works. He's willing to work hard and make more out the hand he's dealt than the previous regime. Last year, he had next to nothing to work with, yet he turned V-Span into Scola and got two productive rookies that were not on anybody's radar. I like Green's potential to back-up and eventually take over for T-Mac/Shane. It's been a long time since we had a high upside young guy on our team (I prefer to forget about Eddie G.) Even though I would have preferred CDR, I like Dorsey. Even though he's not tall, he's physically a beast and could turn into a Rodman/Wallace-type guy, at best. Plus, to get Memphis's 2nd rounder next year for one draft slot is super nice. It will likely be a high pick that we can use ourselves or have as an asset in a trade. Now, we'll just ahve to trust the scouts and Morey's judgement in the actual picks.
I concur. AND we still have yet to see what FAs he signs or trades he makes this offseason or at the deadline. He knows we NEED scorers on this team. I can't see him not trying to bring in at least one legitimate guy somehow. We all know Greene is a project for the next year or two. Dorsey can play now, he adds toughness. So come July 1st we will start seeing part II of 'The Morey Plan'
Pretty cool how it turned out..I was like WTF with our original pick, but I've always liked Dorsey but yes, it'll be a log jam at that spot...
He's a 2nd round pick, landry was extremely rare, so don't expect production out of him we need a damn trade, lord please don't role out the same roster next season
Don't be so pessimistic, it wasn't really the general roster that killed us...it was health and depth. We had good roster, last year. Who I think could beat anybody in 7 game series. I think Yao injury was kind took alot of steam from it, did well without him...rolled through the regular season, but were banged up by playoff time. I still think we are a better team than Jazz and probably could gave LA a 7 game series. When you lose your best scorer and rebounder, it's not so easy overcome. We're in good position, because are gradually improving all over. I think now we just need people who can shoot and maybe a pg.
Before the flamers hit me with their "stupid stick", can someone tell me how much people are expecting Magette to receive. I would do a SnT with the Clipps for him as well? We need a 3rd scorer... I would assume he would come cheaper than VC and he gets to the rack (see his ft shots per game). Not sure what it would take to sign him but it would be hard to pass up!!
now we dont need loren woods $998,398 boddy jackson $6,090,000 or luther head $1,962,378 and aaron brooks $1,045,560 we should packege them up $10,455,560 and cash, send them to sacramento for ron artest $8,450,000 and fransico garcia $ 1,983,453 and together totals up to 10,433,453 id say we would have the deal becasue they get a good back up vetren pg behind udrih and a future pg aaron brooks and a 3pt shooter which they need and a much needed backup center. for the rockets this helps them right away a fantastic 3rd scorer and a defencive player comparable to battier or even better and a 3 pt shooter in garcia who could spread the floor cause of t mac and yao and hit the wide open 3 so what do yall say ???
hello guys. rockets fan from the Philippines here. I think the draft was good. we were able to compete with the Jazz inspite of our deficiencies with the injury bug again. Teams more or less figured out how to play Carlos Boozer last year as he was not as big a factor as before even in the LA series. Boozer is basically a right handed player who loves to go left. The guy that killed us was Deron Williams. With the general trend of the NBA game and the rules geared towards quicker pgs or wing players penetrating through the lane, we wouldn't solve that with a taller player who is slow on his feet. With Dorsey, he is a deceptively quick front court player with an intimidation factor who could help out on the smaller and quicker players. He can leave the taller players for Yao to defend. Go Rockets!!!
Greene is multi-talented, he can even play the drums! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bFsgFdvyYAA&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bFsgFdvyYAA&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
watching clips of dorsey and greene, they both look like they can move but when they elevate, they look REALLY slow on the way up, not like landry or even brooks who are pretty much pogo sticks.
