500 lbs doesnt seem like enough.

    crawfish season is over.

yes, it is the end of june, but that's the end of june. the only ones left are the one with one eye, or the ones with three eyeballs staring at you.

No loser, you said that this is prime crawfish season. In the quote that you quoted, it even says that it PEAKS in April and May. That is the definition of PRIME. No matter how much you want it to be prime crawfish season, you are wrong. It is not.

If you want to go eat a bunch of hard, ****ty crawfish, go ahead. This is not the best time of year to eat them regardless of how many times you want to say it is.

I never thought I would see a thread about the end of crawfish season.

If you have no intention of going in the first place, why are you so intent on trolling the thread? They are throwing something, you don't want to go, we get it. It's over.

Is he the ONLY writer for Houstonist?

Having read Gothamist every day while I lived there, Houstonist seems like a neighborhood flyer in comparison.

LOL, I wasn't dogging his gig. I had no idea he was involved because if I did, I wouldn't have said anything. I figured dude was arguing for arguments sake. I can definitely understand why they would do a boil for the public now though, crawfish are hella cheap after the peak of the season.

Some of y'all should've gone to this crawfish boil. It was really, really good and I'm not just saying that cause I too, write for Houstonist.

500lbs was plenty and lots of work! I didn't cook 'em but I prepped all 500lbs. The guy that cooked them is originally from Baton Rouge and he really knows his stuff. These were cooked in a multitude of spices, potatoes, bell peppers, celery, corn, onions and garlic.

As I prepped them, I found very few that were dead, missing one eye or otherwise not edible.

Ya really missed out. It kicked a whole bunch of ass.
