Dorsey looked good in highlights video and seemed to be reasonably amazing in dunks and rebounds .. is he another stromile or better??

Dorsey next to Yao Ming punishing double teams with offensive rebounds and tearing down the rim is gonna be fun to watch.

to be fair to swift, he's got offensive game. stromille is a diappointment, to say the least. don't even want to think about it.

Chris Douglas-Roberts isn't going to amount to anything spectacular in the NBA. He was able to take advantage of the college game because of his length, and ability to get the to the free-throw line. He will be facing smaller and quicker guards in the NBA and will exposed on defense for the slouch he was at Memphis; he was extremely lucky to have Dorsey backing him up defenseively. He might hit some shots off of the bench, but that's it.

I LOVE this pick. We do not need Dorsey to score.

He is an ideal backup to Scola and/or Yao. I think he can guard the centers from most teams. He is a BEAST on the boards and will bring toughness to our team and do all the dirty work.

I mean who wouldn't want this guy on your team?

Is it a fair comparison to compare Dorsey to Dennis Rodman?

anyone who is saying that Dorsey can't play center has probably never watched him play. As I said in an earlier thread, I was shocked when I read that he's only 6'7" because he plays so much bigger.

What centers in the league are going to be able to rebound over him on a consistent basis? None that I can think of. Which centers are going to abuse him on the post because of his (perceived lack of) size? Yao might be the only one who could.

Plus, his lateral quickness is probably better than the average 7 footer. He's not going to be a defensive liability out there. He's probably already one of the strongest guys in the league. I guarantee that Loren Woods will not earn any pt over this guy, even though he surpasses that magical 7 foot mark. Hell, he probably won't even make the team now.

Dorsey brings a ton to the table, as mentioned above, AND we have the option to play him at PF as well. and he's definately not undersized at that position.

PLEASE DONT PUT STROMILE AND REBOUNDS IN THE SAME SENTENSE.

they guy can play defense. he's not the next stromile.

He's a second round pick so he's not supposed to give people wet dreams. He will be a solid rebounder and defender.

The rockets knew who was still on the board at 33 so they passed over those "sweet" players for a reason. I'm going to trust the rockets scouts/decision makers over a bunch of people on the internet who have only watched footage of players dunking on youtube to evaluate players.

I can't wait to see this guy play for the Rockets !! I never expected Landry to be the beast but he unleashed it and suprised us. This guy is already a monster and fits perfectly. Can you imagine him next to Deke at the 4 spot swatting everything away ?? It's going to be beautiful !!!!! I love how he dunks, but i love even more how he blocks. That's the only real thing missing from Landry's game, blocking shots but that's coming around too so we're going to have a monster team. Let's bring in the next beast: Artest :p

Passing up on Chalmers, and even CDR doesn't bother me,although I like CDR.
Dorsey will fit in a certain role. That's fine. Greene is the one I'm worried about.
I don't know much about Batum but he appeared to have a better attitude, but again it's hard to know these kids.

Givony asked Batum, there is a concern about you about not being aggressive enough,to which Batum admitted it won't work in the NBA which showed his immaturity, but he did look like he was more serious about what he needed to do to get better. I hope and (think)? the Rockets did their background homework on Greene. He doesn't look serious about the game and appears to have a low IQ.

I like guys with upside but only if they have a positive attitude. Ajinca looks even more raw than Greene but looks like he wants to learn and get better from his interviews.I'm not saying we needed him but I'm trying to give an example here.

He's someone who can guard Boozer and West, and probably can push around Amare.

Thing is, I don't think he is Chuck Hayes. Chuck's a smart player, and I don't know if Dorsey can readily match him on smarts. It seems like Chuck already does everything Dorsey can do, with the exception of blocking shots and running fast, but is smarter and more experienced.

    I like him very much.

Perfect fit for the Rockets to play alongside with T-Mac and Yao with defense/rebound/shot blocking/dunk.

I dont give a damn about his offensive game as long as he can dunk the ball. Hayes can easily score 6-8 pts per game if he can finish the freaking layups within 2 feet. We love Landry so much because he dunks the ball. As long as Dorsey can dunk, T-Mac will find him.

It also has Luis Scola at #14 but theres no Battier so what point are you trying to make? Chuck is a good defensive player but Dorsey brings athleticism.

I think getting rid of Mike Harris and Loren Woods is better than getting rid of Chuck Hayes imo
