Posted on the front page ... wow what a night. Both rumors ended up being true lol

UPDATE: DONE DEAL AND CONFIRMED. The Rockets surprised with pick #25 by selecting 19-year old athletic swingman Nicolas Batum out of France, but they have dealt him. Rockets GM Daryl Morey has confirmed that the Rockets traded Batum to Portland for the 27th pick (Darrell Arthur) and 33rd picks (muscle-bound big man Joey Dorsey). The Rockets then traded Arthur to Memphis for the 28th pick (6-10 Syracuse forward Donte Greene) and a 2009 second round pick, which Morey felt had a chance to be a good pick. More coming...

i really dont think its all that complicated. we came out of the draft with greene and dorsey and a 2nd rounder from mem next year. how it came to that is really immaterial.

i could be wrong, but im 98% sure im understanding it right.

Just reading a few websites about Greene. Sounds like he could be a Rashard Lewis, Robert Horry, or Eddie Griffin.

Thats a brilliant move by Morey. With one pick, he's able to get two players and a pick for next year's draft.

so we end up with a leader-version of gerald green, and a copycat stro swift??!
    :(
dorsey doesn't have half of chucky's IQ...
and why get greene, when we still have to develop green?

unimpressed. we should have just kept batum, considered by some to be a lottery pick at the beginning of the year.

There are no reports that we traded our 2nd round pick Maarty Leunen.

Donte Greene also was considered a lotto pick. At this point, its hard to say which one is going to be the better player. Each have their strengths. Greene is probably a better shooter, while Batum may be a better athlete. They are both too raw to tell right now. Morey was able to get one of these two guys and also added another player, Dorsey, and a future 2nd round pick, which likely will be in the high 30's. Good draft by Morey: A.

we traded the 54th pick along with the 25th...so, Maarty is no longer a Rocket.

Just a short time after taking 19-year-old small forward Nicolas Batum with the No. 25 selection in Thursday’s NBA draft, the Rockets were working to complete a pair of deals that would send away Batum and their second round pick (No. 54) and get two players in return.
