portland wanted batum all along. they knew san antonio was going to take him. they told houston to take him for an early 2nd round pick. 33rd, and they took joey dorsey for houston.

memphis wanted darrel arthur. houston wanted donte green all along, but wanted to get him for better value, not at 25 straight up. memphis drafts donte green, sends him to houston. houston sends batum to portland. portland sends 33rd pick to houston, and darrel arthur to memphis. houston sends 54th pick to someone else, i'm guessing memphis.

portland gets who they wanted in batum by cockblocking san antonio.

houston gets donte green for better value, and essentially moves up 21 spots in the 2nd round to get dorsey.

memphis gets darrel arthur and an additional 2nd round pick.

that's what happened pretty much, except that i can't be too sure what's happening with that 54th pick..

Portland gets Batum, Memphis gets D. Arthur, Rockets get Dorsey, Greene, and memphis 2009.

Maybe Portland and Memphis are apologizing for raping us in past drafts

nevermind...I was only looking at the Dorsey pick.

Technically, "memphis" is involved with the deal 3x...

    #28 picked by Memphis
#33 used to belong to Memphis
    Dorsey played at Memphis

    i think it was:
portland and memphis traded picks. then the rockets sent their pick to portland, portland sent their pick to memphis, memphis sent their pick to houston, and portland sent a second rounder to houston.

All you need to know is his shot selection is horrible. Dude jacks up any and every 3 he can shoot.

he is young and that can be changed... they needed an athletic(check), tall(check), scorer(check) who can hit perimeter shots(check) when tracy and shane need a breather.

I'm pretty happy that we got some potential impact players instead of a wispy project like Batum who will probably need a couple of more years to be NBA ready. Donte Greene looks like he has some solid potential, and if he's freed up by all the attention 111 receive, it might even speed up his growth. Dorsey I'm hoping can be that presence in the paint that we've sorely lacked whenever Yao goes out (sorry but Deke can only play so many minutes, and his one 3 second violation per game is kind of getting to be a hassle).

I hope Morey is right about these ones, as it can certainly help us out. Then again, he might be using them as trade bait later on in the year. Didn't he say we were looking to improve then?

Yeah he is very athletic, and hopefully he becomes more of a slasher, he's very talented but I watched a lot of syracuse games and his shot selection was damn near worse then Allen Iverson.

Oh yeah and he wasn't even the best Freshman on that Syracuse Team. :(

I don't disagree with you, but shot selection is easy to fix. I presume you are talking about johnnie flynn.
