Signs of the times?
Dubai is an amazing city! Glad I get to fly there often and hopefully will be living there working for Emirates soon!
That is amazing. I've always wanted to visit (if not live there) and hopefully will get the chance once I'm done with college.
Do they not get tropical storms in the Persian Gulf? Moving out of the Indian Ocean or anything? I always wonder about the people that build huge houses in Galveston but a 5' storm surge is going to waste Plam Island.
The islands are surrounded by breakwaters plus I guess the shape of them does a lot to break up the wave action. I'm guessing they are going to have dredge those channels alot or else within a few years they will silt up.
Those beachfront homes looked fantastic! The shot from the top of that building looking at construction workers gave me chills.
Discovery channel had a cool special on the making of those islands...I think it was a "Monster Engineering" episode, or some show like that. It was interesting and I was temporarily smarter.
