Denzel Washington & Gene Hackman in the Crimson Tide.

I always wished they'd do another movie together but now Hackman is really old and retired.

Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore ...while they can't compare to some of the classic duos, they've been good together on screen.

    Eddie Murphy/Dan Aykroyd

And while this doesn't technically count as a duo, it does bear mentioning...the cast of Ocean's Eleven.

Honorable mention to Tom Hanks/Wilson in Castaway.

Is he retired? I thought he just hadn't made a movie since the horrific Mooseport film.

He got engaged to Angie Everheart and has been on his knees thanking god ever since. (Not that I rate Everheart that highly...but Pesci doesn't strike me as a lady's man.)

That was a terrific duo. They should have made another flick together.

I agree with whoever said Carrey and Daniels. Carrey was his usual self but Jeff Daniels pulled out all the stops and made that one of the greatest comedic combinations in a single movie.

Interesting. I read that Michael Mann did shoot them together in that scene because he wanted them to play off each other in person. I guess directors wouldn't normally do that for whatever reason. Found these photos:
