considering the rocks probly wont get the first pick i think they should trade the wiz and their pick to whoever gets it, and free up some space, pick kenyon martin, sign no one back but cuttino mobley, use all their xtra cash including the 4.5 million, and sign tim duncan, picture this lineup! C-Tim Duncan PF-Kenyon Martin SF-Shandon Anderson SG-Cuttino Mobley PG-Stevie Franchise I know its a real long shot and i know that the rockets wont do any of this but still, wouldnt that be cool???
There just might be a way we can get Tim Duncan, but no way we will do it this year. There have been rubmlings about him and Grant Hill both resigning with their current teams for 1 year deals so after that year is up, both would be in a higher salary bracket and would recieve more money when they sign their multi-year contract. Well if Duncan signs a 1-year deal and with Hakeem retiring in 1 year, we then should have enough space to sign Duncan after Hakeem retires. Get Duncan and and small forward in the draft and we will be back in contention.
That sounds cool and all, but I was thinking maybe we can trade Mobley and our second round pick for Carter. Then we trade Shandon and Kenny for Garnett. Starting lineup: Kenyon Martin Tim Duncan Kevin Garnett Vince Carter Steve Francis.
hah, rocket03, you are funny. carter plays small forward, he wouldnt make it as a sg. ------------------ "Don't they get cable in Canada ?" Keith olbermann, after watching hakeem block terry catledge's shot 5 times.
isn't Anderson a free agent next year as well? Tim Duncan is untouchable. It won't happen. Take your beedy little eyes off of him and look for someone from Portland that is unhappy (his initials are BG).
I think there is a much better chance of luring Grant Hill than Tim Duncan. I think Grant would be a great fit because he doesn't need a lot of touches on the offensive side of the ball. Then if Duncan really wants to play with Grant, then we can talk trades to SA, assuming Duncan does sign a 1 yr deal. Grant seems like he's intent on leaving, or at least driving up his price as much as possible (with Grant I don't really know if $ are that important, compared to other players) Problem with Grant is that causes another log jam at our 2/3 positions with Cat/Anderson/Hill.
