Germany stronger, leaner. Portugal's defenders played a poor game collectively.

I have never been a fan of Germany's style of play, but looks like they might get into the final this time.

Never underestimate ze heart of a champion.

(posting this from my mobile phone on the way back to Zuerich...apparently, I was on TV quite a bit today, friends sent me SMS telling me to settle down as I was two rows from the pizch and screaming frantically. My throat is so sore right now)

flying back to vienna tomorrow for turkey vs. Croatia.

    i love this game.

rooting for the dutch to make it to the final vs. Germany. The italians might be the onLLy team that is more "tournament-driven".than we are...as in they are there when it counts.

    the better team shall win......

screw that. I want germany to win!

As expected Ronaldo all but says he wants to go to Madrid. As a United supporter, I'm disappointed, but we'll get a huge fee from Real, and I'm hoping we demand Sneijder in return. With the cash we can still go get a class winger and the 9 we need. I'm excited to see Rooney return to his role as "the man" next season.

Rooney? Sorry, I just don't think he is anywhere near the class as Ronaldo...

Rooney is a bruiser who hustles like mad and is a tough as nails striker, but Ronaldo is so special he gives the Red devils so much more and is one of those all time great type of players.

    I hope United keeps him.

Right, I am really nervous about tomorrow. I think we should beat Russia but you never know. Anything can happen. It would be a great shame though as we have shown the best spectacle so far. Everyone in Holland is really positive now, hopefully the players are focused still.

Germany, surprising. I really didn't think they would do it this time - fair play to them though. Not really thinking about a final against them now though, focus on Russia first and who cares about the potential matches following. Italy, Spain ... whatever. If I have to worry about that then it's a good sign as it will mean we managed to get through to the semis!

SJC - I hate you for being able to see all the matches! :p

I expected Ronaldo to leave ever since the thing came up, I'd be surprised if he didn't. Sucks for Man U but I do think Rooney could have a lot more to offer than what he currently normally does just needs to be more aggressive.. don't really know if he has it in him but he's very skilled just doesn't show it often enough and people forget he's still only like 22?

The problem with Rooney is he has no brain.....he is just strictly a pair....

Are you serious? Rooney has a great football brain, exceptional for someone his age. He does tend to lose his temper, but he is a very smart player, as far as decision making, he's miles ahead of Ronaldo.

I suggest you watch Rooney more, he's not a bruiser/tough as nails striker at all. He's one of the most technically gifted players in the game.

Ronaldo as had two great seasons, but I'll hold off on the all time great status for now. I will go ahead and say he's one of the all time great pricks though.

Yeah, I personally don't like Rooney but I have to admit he is definitely an intelligent player. Or rather, he is definitely not "just a pair". He might lose his temper but that doesn't align with not having a footballing brain. Watch the Premiership and some of his movement, passing etc is great. I think he's better than Ronaldo on that level. Ronaldo is however athletically more gifted, more explosive, runs at defenders and is more prolific in front of goal.

No disrespect at all, just a difference of opinion. I love Rooney's hustle and finishing ability, but Ranaldo has all that and much much more.....

Yes Rooney has a brain, I just think Ronaldo is better.

Rooney is an elite player, but Ronaldo is an all timer.

If I had to keep one, it would be Ronaldo....and not Rooney.

And honestly, I think that we should keep them both.........

And Man U management agrees - Ronaldo NOT FOR SALE !

Seems to me that neither Ronaldo nor Rooney are still in the tournament...why not focus on the players that are still in there...Ballack...Lahm...Klose...

By the way, I'm 5 minutes (walk) from the stadium right now and have a ticket, but won't go to the game...too tired, going back to Munich.
