    RF34,

I saw your correspondence in the other forum and came back here to edit mine so I wouldn't look so foolish.

College ball is not a strength for me, so I have a question. I have seen some
Texas games on TV and Chris M. just doesn't seem to dominate a game as I would expect a top draft choice to do. I know you can't coach height, but he seems lacking to be a dominate big man in the NBA.

Chris Mimh is a 7'0 white center suited for a post up offense. I hate bringing up race issue but when was the last time a white center dominated the game? He isn't overly athletic but has a very good post game. Good defender also. However, good big men are very hard to find these days and even though they might be very raw(kandi), they still go high regardless. To tell you the truth, Loren Woods is probably the best center with his potential, but I don't think he's going to come out. However, Mimh is the most complete center as of right now.

I truly feel Mihm will be a bust and what we have right now is better already. Cato has better potential than Mihm in my opinion. I wouldn't draft Pryzbilla either cause he is white(This coming from a white guy). I sure hope the Rockets take a black guy unless it's Murphy, they have always been the better player with a few exceptions(like Larry Bird). Right now I would either want the Rockets to take Troy Murphy, Quentin Richardson, Courtney Alexander, DerMarr, Micharl Redd or Eddie House. Of course I would love to get Kenyon but I'm a realist and it aint gonna happen. P.S. I was going for most improved speller all along and wanted to win that award before LHutz could so I could claim it. I would like to thank Barbara Beretta, Bob Hoskins, all the guys who made "We won't make it til you order it" a success and.... Hey, back off.

I believe it was theFreak that once so poignantly wrote "I'm glad that we have posters so willing to stereotype on the bbs".

Last I checked, Etan Thomas is destined to be in the lottery and he is a senior. So why isn't he amongst the first 29 players listed. That's probably the most glaring omission on the list.

I have won and lost some bets this year. Some of them have hurt. Ouch,Cabbage!!!!!

Some I can still taste the steak and beer dinners they bought for a whole passel of friends. Thanks ..... ah .... well, I'll spare him the embarassment.

But I will bet anyone here that A.J. Guyton goes better than 27th. Absolutely no doubt, AJ goes good!!!!!

Wow, I had to read this 3 or 4 times to make sure I read it right. I really get the feeling that some people who post regarding college players have never actually seen them play, but rather post based on what school they go to, who they read them being compared to, etc.

So, SooneRockStro, I'd like to ask you about how much you have actualy seen Mihm play, and whether you actualy have any tangable, specific, reasons to dislike Mihm, other than his racial ancestry.

I attend UT, and I have the opportunity of watching Mihm play quite often, on tv and live. I think he's quite overrated...though I still think he'll be picked in the first half of the 1st round, I dont believe in his prime time skills. He's not quick, not strong, and skills get put in the backseat when faced with someone stronger and/or faster. He's also not vocal and doesnt have a killer instinct. He does put up fairly steady numbers for a collegiate center.

After seeing him at the arcade, he is ok at Crazy Taxi though. =)

I hope my friend doesnt read this because he's best friends with him and is roommates with him...haha.

I've seen him play plenty and have always said he sucks. It's not because he's white, it's because he flat out sucks. It has nothing to do with race or school affiliation. Remember I am white. If he was good then I would say so, has nothing to do with race.

HE doesnt suck bad. He just wont be a big player in the NBA. He will probably be a decent center but nothing big.

he'll be a white backup center, a la brad miller or something. not as bad as travis knight or anything, but nothing that justifies a lotto pick, unless youre the clippers.

I said it before and I say it again.

    Mihm is Jon Koncak reincarnate.

A decent player, but does not have the heart to dominate in the NBA. Everytime..EVERTYIME, he faces a challenge, he backs down.

Fizer this year...Chenowith last year, Mihm is just SOFT, SOFT, SOFT.

    DaDakota

PS...Before anyone questions how often I have seen him play, I live in Austin and have seen almost every game he has played at UT. THE MAN IS SOFT !!!!

I guess all you "experts" who've claimed to watch Mihm alot don't see the quadruple teams this guy gets. Almost every game, Mihm is always doubled, many times tripled, and some times quadruple teamed before he even gets the ball.

He consistently scores in the upper teens with double digit rebounds. Those numbers do not equal soft. His numbers have gone up this year. He's a great low post player, and in a league where college zone defense is not allowed, he will only get better.

He never had a chance of approval from SooneRockStro, since he's a white Longhorn. I really believe that if he was black, no one would be thinking bust at all.

Chris Mihm will be a lottery pick when he comes out. There is no way that a team is going to pass on this guy passed the third pick. Mihm is not as athletic as a Martin or Swift, but he is fundamentally superior to both of these posts. He reminds me of a cross between Mourning and Laetner. He has the skills of Zo but the athletic ability of Christian. I hope that if he comes out he goes to either LAC or Chicago, somewhere where he can get the ball in the post on a consistent basis. I do think that you will see Brand like numbers when he does come out though.

Marcus Fizer won't go that far down, because he's a scoring big man with a shot from outside.

Rudy will snap him up in a second...I guar-ron-T.

more on Mihm, unless he bulks up and gets more agile and MOSt of all, get a mean spirit that tells him to dominate, he wont be any kind "elton-brand-type numbers". I guess a poor man's Christian Laettner describes him. I agree w/ DaDakota, this guy is soft like Charmin.

Hey DaDakota, are you at UT?

Just because he's white isn't the reason I don't like him or because I'm a Sooner. I said in most cases the black athlete was better. If Mihm was black with the same skills I still wouldn't want him. If Kenyon Martin was white and the same player I would want him. My point on the race thing was that the majority of the superstars in the NBA are black. And the only white player I can think of right now that I would want is Troy Murphy.

you know Kenyon wouldnt be quite as imposing when he scowls or grins at you after throwing your shot to the scouts in the 10th row if he was white.

    haha =)
